LOOK AT THOSE SEATS

LOOK AT THOSE SEATS

I'M SO EXCITED I MAY PUKE.

Last time I saw Radiohead it was at a terrible (outside) venue, so this? This is good. This is REALLY REALLY GOOD. :D!!!

T-minus 4 days until my parents and I drive Greenville, South Carolina, pick up my sister from the airport (!!!!!), and then head over to Georgia for an awesome Thanksgiving vacation. I have so very been looking forward to this. Even more so because it is still summer-like hot here, and I just. I can't. I can't. And I am 110% serious when I say that I'm not entire sure I can endure another summer here. But do I want to move? Where do I want to move? IDK. Someone make adult life decisions for me, please.

And I'm just gonna leave this here:

Lady Gaga concert on Saturday was absolutely smashing. So much fun. She has this stage presence that's just... so awesome. Not that that's news. I think my favorite was You and I, a new song on her upcoming album. And when Bad Romance came on, you damn well better believe I got on my heels and danced the sexy dance. Or at least attempted to. Ahh good times.

YESTERDAY I was leaving work, and I noticed the wonderfully overwhelming stench of gasoline, which filled me full of dread, as I have smelled it before under such circumstances, and it's never a good thing. Parked, got out, looked behind my car, and yep, gasoline, leaking out EVERYWHERE. Basically, squirrels have once again chewed through my gas line. This is the THIRD TIME this has happened, which is so dumbfoundingly STUPID it's almost hilarious. Per last time when this happened, I didn't start my car again, as gas could have been flying all over the engine which eventually equals me dying in a fireball. So I left it there and had my dad come pick me up. We had it towed to our mechanic this morning, and apparently it's going to take A WEEK to get the replacement part. Oh lol. But the good news is that it might cost me less than $250 dollars this time.

Stupid fucking squirrels. WHY WOULD YOU CHEW ON A GAS LINE. WHY. Does it have delicious flavor? WELL, no, apparently where I park is close enough to where people from another office feed them, so of course they're so dumb that they gnaw on whatever else is closest, including expensive car parts that have gasoline coating them. OKAY. Gaaahh rage rage rage.

But, everything was made a bit better by my friend texting me and saying she found a REALLY good deal on, uh, hot air ballooning! Lol no really. We've been thinking about doing it for a while, and it was a good deal, so I bought a ticket, lulz. HOT AIR BALLOONING. Who would've thought. We'll be doing it some time next month!

Alsoooo I know I totally had a fit about it on twitter, but I must flail about it here too because OH GOD IT'S SO CUTE. )

Tonight is definitely a "scour youtube for best-of-Rifftrax clips" kinda night. Good Lord, really, The Last Airbender? It was painful even WITH the commentary for just ten minutes.

YEAAAAHHHH

Okay, so that forecast isn't actually for where I am. But it's for where I will be this weekend! My sister and I are taking a roadtrip to Atlanta (and Canton, where my aunt and uncle are), Georgia to see Sufjan Stevens in concert at this beautiful venue called the Tabernacle. I get off work at 12pm tomorrow, and we'll drive 8 and a half hours north to our aunt and uncle's place and stay there for the weekend where it'll be COLD and the leaves will have COLORS and AHHH I'M SO EXCITED.

We'll also try to hit one of my favorite restaurants ever, the OK Cafe in the middle of Atlanta (unghhhh baked macaroni and cheese and chicken fried steak with gravy and southern style green beans you will be mahn) and also a Trader Joe's nearby, because when you type in "nearest Trader Joe's to Tampa, Florida" you get... Atlanta. SADFACE.

And oh maaaan, I am so excited for the venue where Sufjan will be playing, it was a 100 year old church now converted into a small, intimate concert setting with apparently amazing acoustics. There might be tears, because some of his songs punch me in the grief bone and seeing and hearing him play them only feet away from me, laksjdf;laskj I can't even make words. I really hope everything goes according to plan!

Alsooooo I hope my aunt and uncle have wifi 'cause I'd really like to watch these guys and their kewl pet snake. Or is it their metaphorical albino peen? Idk idk. One way or another I my next update will be filled with capslock.
Drove down to St. Pete and met up with some friends to see Mae in concert for the... I dunno. I forget how many times I've seen them now. They were opening for Relient K, though, and we scooted out before they came on, heh.

I haven't seen my friends much lately which is heartbreaking and agonizing but I can't quite get myself to explain it just yet. I'm so glad I got to hang out with Catie and Haley though, because I've missed them so much. They both said screw 'em, the other friends, and I just, I don't know. I'm hurt, and lonely, but I really don't know if it's my own doing. My sister tells me no. My sister has become more and more theraputic, these days.

Anyway. I woke up with a sore throat and stuffy nose this morning, which, what the hell, it's summer, so I've been moaning and groaning about that all day, plus a migrain at the concert, which, I don't even know. I still really enjoyed it, though. Mae really knows how to put on a show.

I finished The Time Traveler's Wife last night. )

These are not good for my HEALTH holy God. It's the scruff. HELP.
Brilliant.

So freaking fantastic and wonderful. I died omg.

The traffic is notoriously bad in Tampa, and we left the house at 6:30 and arrived at almost 9:30, missing Fiona Apple completely. We freaking ran to the entrance and arrived 10 minutes before Coldplay came on.

AND THEN I EXPLOADED, PRETTY MUCH.

Just... just... I love them. I really do. They were the first band that I ever fell in love with, and I pretty much clung to their music when my mom was going through chemo. Non-stop in the CD player, man. They opened with Square One, and did The Scientist, and Clocks, and Swallowed in the Sea, and Don't Panic, and White Shadows, and Trouble, and just, etc., etc. So wonderful. Chris Martin's hair was all long and curly a;slkdjfl;askjd!!

FUNNY THINGS: While singing one song (I forget which one), Chris Martin fell on the stage AHAHHF;AKLJSDF. And then after he finished the song he was laughing, and then tried to start singing "God Put a Smile On Your Face," but stopped, and said, "Oh, fuck, my leg really hurts!" and laughed and started again. And then he sang "God made me fall flat on my face," ahahfhhfhahahhaha!!!

And he and his guitarist went to the center of the stage while singing and pretended to make out and then danced around a little bit; after the song he said, "That was the Brokeback dance!" Heeee.

A few pictures. They're not the greatest, BUT STILL OKAY? )

And a few videos! No download necessary; they're on YouTube.

Ring of Fire YEEEEE. They did a tribute to Johnny Cash, and I whipped out my camera as fast as I could. Battery ran out, though, unfortunately. :(

Singing "Yellow"

Singing "Clocks"

Sigh. They have to come back seriously NOW.

First midterm tomorrow. I pretty much don't even care anymore. I just want this to be over. :(
