Oh lordy I meant to post ages ago about one thing, which I didn't have time for, which turned into three things, and then five, and then NO TIME, and then oops a month and a half later...

Some pictorial evidence )

In less than two weeks I'm leaving yet again to go to Minneapolis for my cousin's wedding, and I will, for the first time in my life not even joking, get to experience autumn. APPLE PICKING. Very excited.

I'm just coming off a dumb cold that knocked me on my ass thanks to some sick person from Dragon*Con. I was utterly miserable for a couple days, and now I've just got this awesome cough that just won't go away. Urgh.

Also uhhh, this is a little weird? But. I got Invisalign today. I had braces for 2.5 years in high school and wore my retainer for a long time after that. But the plastic on my retainer cut into my gums and hurt SO BAD that I finally called it quits. I should have just gone to my ortho and asked them to make me a new one, but I didn't, so now I have one tooth that's starting to turn all the way around again and affecting some teeth around it. If I didn't fix it now, it was gonna get worse, so. I don't think I need them for more than 6 months, so that'll be nice to have it taken care of. In the meantime, my teeth huuuurt. :(

And in case you were wondering, I 938472937% can't deal with the SPN S7 gag reel.

GDI
Omg Avengers )

The world is immensely lacking in awesome action flicks with heart/character development/an actual plot. Lol Battleship I'm already embarrassed for you.

Also, there is absolutely no way I'll be able to see Prometheus (at least not in theaters) because even the TRAILER stresses me out, so I'll just keep rewatching it and whisper to myself, it looks so good.

SO UM. Tomorrow. I'm flying to Barcelona. TOMORROW I'M FLYING TO BARCELONA. Arrive Saturday morning, hang out in the city and try not to pass out from sleep deprivation, stay the night at a hotel. Sunday we board our cruise ship (omg I've never been on a cruise befooooore). Monday is Cannes, France. Tuesday is Livorno/Florence, Italy. Wednesday is Civitavecchia/Rome. Thursday we stuff our faces on the ship and drink all the wine we're smuggling aboard. Friday we dock back in Barcelona and I fly home. No computer/internet for me for the whole week, which, okay, I'd be lying if I said that didn't make me panic a little. But we'll be so jam packed busy it should be okay. I didn't really want to, but long story short, I'm bringing my Galaxy S2 phone so if there's wi-fi somewhere I can pick up the signal and flail frantically for a brief amount of time I GUESS. Also I'm missing SPN tomorrow night OMG DON'T JUDGE ME I just hate being behind on things and missing flail shh.

I researched ports like an absolute crazy person, and going on trips with the type of people like my friends stresses me out for various reasons, so I'm just really really hoping everything goes smoothly. I'm sure there's bound to be hiccups somewhere, but please let them be very very tiny hiccups.

Aaaahhhhh I haven't even started packing yet. I guess I should do that. PS, I'll be taking about 8 billion pictures, obvs. YAY OKAY UNTIL THEN BYE. ♥
March 19th I got the blood test pertaining to the medical saga. Right? Right. A week later I still haven't heard the results from my doctor. From that time to now, I have called my doctor's office many many times, all with varying answers, ranging from "it takes 7 to 9 business days for the lab to get it to us, so call again in a few days, " to "oh, due to HIPPAA regulations, YOU'RE supposed to be the one to get the results from the lab and have them sent to us." Uhh, since when? But, okay, whatever. Called the lab. And called. And left messages. And more messages. So yesterday I finally drove over to the lab to see what the hell was up.

Long story short: "Oh, what's the fax number to your doctor's office? Okay, the results are on their way."

OKAY

OH

KAY

So I won't be going there again. Hopefully, at least, my results should be given to me by my doctor on Monday or Tuesday.

Relatives came over today and we had an Easter feast/birthday get together, complete with a homemade dulce de leche cake, which I requested, a combination of three different cake recipes and omfg it is DIVINE. I will eat the rest of it with the reverence it deserves.

I had taken off work for my birthday but due to scheduling weirdness, I'm going to have to open, ugh. At least I get off at 9:30am. Buuut the next two days after that I have to work 1-10:30pm ughhhhh. I'd rather work a 9.5 open shift. But if I can just get through those, then I'm off to Chicago on Thursday to hang out with my sister! YAY. I need to get out of here for a bit.

Speaking of needing to get out of here... I think I may have another idea for a non-permanent living situation. My cousin lives in Minneapolis and is getting married soon, but her and her fiance have stated many times that they would love for me to come and visit and stay in their guest room. When I go up for their wedding in September, I'm gonna ask if it might be possible to stay with them for six months or so. It's weird, especially since they'll be married and I'd be living with them, but my cousin and I have always been pretty close, I adore her fiance, and we're all a big bunch of nerds. Plus it would just be so nice to see pretty flowers. And seasons. Like autumn. And SNOOOOWWW.

And if that doesn't work out, I'm gonna send resume after resume to every job listed on bookjobs.com. A lot of which reside in NYC. So. Yes.

Ugh. Bedtime. Opening tomorrow.

LOOK AT THOSE SEATS

LOOK AT THOSE SEATS

I'M SO EXCITED I MAY PUKE.

Last time I saw Radiohead it was at a terrible (outside) venue, so this? This is good. This is REALLY REALLY GOOD. :D!!!

T-minus 4 days until my parents and I drive Greenville, South Carolina, pick up my sister from the airport (!!!!!), and then head over to Georgia for an awesome Thanksgiving vacation. I have so very been looking forward to this. Even more so because it is still summer-like hot here, and I just. I can't. I can't. And I am 110% serious when I say that I'm not entire sure I can endure another summer here. But do I want to move? Where do I want to move? IDK. Someone make adult life decisions for me, please.

And I'm just gonna leave this here:

My new shooooes. :3

Unfortunately my skinny jeans aren't, well, skinny enough; they still bunch around the ankles when tucked into the boot. I cannot believe I'm going to do this, but I'm gonna have to go shopping for jeggings. Jeggings. I know. Though, I have seen a few places that sell actual jean jeggings that aren't just cotton. More like really REALLY skinny jeans. So fingers crossed, 'cause I really want to wear these shoes omg.

Today was day 8 of 8 in a row at work (as a 4:30am open shift to boot) and I'm so relieved to have a couple days off now. Though honestly? It feels really good to be working somewhere again where I'm actually useful, know what the hell I'm doing and am good at it, and can order people around delegate, lulz.

And now that this week is over, fun times abound. Tomorrow night it's $1.75 beer and $3 sushi with friends, Wednesday is a Pink Floyd tribute concert with a laser light show and all, the week after that is Disney and Epcot aww yeaaaaah, and the week after THAT, Thanksgiving week, my parents and I are driving 11 hours up to Greenville, South Carolina to pick up my sister from the airport, and then driving to an upscale cabin in north Georgia for a whole week. Omg so much yays.
Chicago and New York )

Tonight I am going to a Wearable Art Fashion Show, which my friend designed for. It's just a local thing, but she's really good. Excited!

Also, next time I post, I hope to have - direct from a friend's mouth - the story of how he met and got drunk with Raven from RuPaul's Drag Race at a gay bar/drag show. Oh yes. It's good.
Finally finally saw Harry Potter 7 part 2 today, and well, this basically sums it up:

Oh how I am not joking. )

Leaving early (eaaaaarly, ugh) Saturday morning to go see my sister in Chicago! Haven't seen her since March, so I'm pretty damn excited. Looks like the weather will only be a little less hot (but much less humid, thank God) than it is here, so that's good, at least.

Bryson City, NC

Also, this was taken a few months ago. Sometimes peacocks roam through our neighborhood, nbd.

Tomorrow morning friends and I will be driving down to Miami for a friend's birthday for a few days. Egh. Miami is nowhere near the top of my must-see list, but hopefully it'll still be fun times. I'm also being dragged out to a club (with an expensive cover fee, no less) and clubs are the opposite of my favorite buuuut since, again, it's for a friend's birthday, I will do my best to not sulk in a corner.

Also, I have not yet seen this past week's True Blood, nor Harry Potter. I MUST RECTIFY THIS IMMEDIATELY.
First off, thank you so much to those who have given me LJ gifts recently. I so appreciate the thoughtfulness! ♥

In about five hours my parents and I are hitting the road for north Georgia for a mini-family reunion of sorts. It'll be good to get away for a little bit. BUT that also means that I'm going to wait to see Harry Potter with my friends until after I return, which will likely be no earlier than Tuesday of next week. And I wanted to write a heartfelt post about everything that Harry Potter means and has meant to me in the past, but really, all you need to do is watch this video (and yeah, I dare you to get through it without crying):

Thank you, Jo, for the Boy Who Lived. ♥
Nature-y nature-ness: How I spent my Thanksgiving )

In case you didn't see me shrieking about it on twitter, THE TRON SOUNDTRACK LEAKED. Unghhh, it's so good. ELECTRIC LOVE.

I would say I'm completely bummed to be going back to work, but I've just got three weeks to get through and then I have two whole weeks off - the rest of the year. +1 points for working for an attorney, I guess!
DISNEEEYY. It was so much fun. And Reg and Stef are still pretty much the awesomest ever, in case you were wondering. SEE I HAVE PHOTO EVIDENCE. )

Coincidentally, while I was seeing the in real life Tinkerbell at Disney World, the Winchesters were trying to kill her. )

And then yesterday we all went to see Harry Potter together. ONE MORE CUT TEXT IF YOU PLEASE. )

I should be packing and getting ready to leave for Georgia, but lol internets. I'm pretty freaking excited to not have to step into work once this coming week. And YAY MOUNTAINS and stuffing my face for Thanksgiving, and my Mom's birthday, which falls on Thanksgiving this year. And COMIC CON TICKETS TOMORROW. Omg so much excitement, yay!
Omg I have been driving all day and I'm tired and I have to get up somewhat early tomorrow but HURR DURR SUPERNATURAL, GOD IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY )

UGH not everything I wanted to say but it is so so bedtime and I must frolic around Georgia tomorrow, SO. <3

YEAAAAHHHH

Okay, so that forecast isn't actually for where I am. But it's for where I will be this weekend! My sister and I are taking a roadtrip to Atlanta (and Canton, where my aunt and uncle are), Georgia to see Sufjan Stevens in concert at this beautiful venue called the Tabernacle. I get off work at 12pm tomorrow, and we'll drive 8 and a half hours north to our aunt and uncle's place and stay there for the weekend where it'll be COLD and the leaves will have COLORS and AHHH I'M SO EXCITED.

We'll also try to hit one of my favorite restaurants ever, the OK Cafe in the middle of Atlanta (unghhhh baked macaroni and cheese and chicken fried steak with gravy and southern style green beans you will be mahn) and also a Trader Joe's nearby, because when you type in "nearest Trader Joe's to Tampa, Florida" you get... Atlanta. SADFACE.

And oh maaaan, I am so excited for the venue where Sufjan will be playing, it was a 100 year old church now converted into a small, intimate concert setting with apparently amazing acoustics. There might be tears, because some of his songs punch me in the grief bone and seeing and hearing him play them only feet away from me, laksjdf;laskj I can't even make words. I really hope everything goes according to plan!

Alsooooo I hope my aunt and uncle have wifi 'cause I'd really like to watch these guys and their kewl pet snake. Or is it their metaphorical albino peen? Idk idk. One way or another I my next update will be filled with capslock.
OH FLIST. I come to you once again in great need of your help.

First. Does anyone have T-Mobile? Our family plan contract is expiring next month, I think, so that means new phones! I have NO idea why, but I've been drooling over BlackBerrys (especially this BlackBerry Curve 8320), but I dunno! I'm not a very big phone person. I REALLY just want a keyboard so I don't have to sit there and mash buttons forever, and I also desperately want a GPS on my phone. I don't think I'll be using the internet or apps too much (of course, I say that now) so the lowest internet capability plan is fine with me. BUT I've heard that BlackBerrys are unnecessary for people who don't use it for business! If that's the case, what else should I look into? Just looking at the brand spankin' new 3G phone delights me tremendously, but I'm not a big fan of touchscreen. My hands get all sweaty which is WEIRD, I know, but. :((( So help omg please!

ALSO. To those who are going to Wincon: what day/time are you flying in? I'm think of flying in Thursday the 8th, and unless it changes, my options right now are 11am or 7pm. If I fly in at 7pm I could probably work that morning, but I might miss some kind of epicness going on if there is any! But if I fly in at 11am it might be TOO early and no one will be there and stuff! Also, I heard rumors of maybe going to Six Flags?? Is this perhaps happening?! 'Cause omg I'm pretty sure that would be the greatest thing EVER EVER EVER.

Ughh, it's SO hot and HUMID. UGHHH. I guess I should attempt grocery shopping. And vacuuming. And cleaning the bathroom. SIGH.
So I promised the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] magikalrhiannon I'd compile and put together a Vancouver set tour locations post for her trip, and I figured, why not make it all PRETTY with maps and pictures and STUFF. So I did!

So you want to be a Canadian stalker... )
Don't even think about singing that damn Beach Boys song. )

So our local library does this REALLY CRAZY THING where it'll ship you books if you're on the waiting list! So I did that! And they arrived today! All three of them! Oh man, so excited. I think I'm gonna read The Graveyard Book by Gaiman first.

Also, Virgil is still really really cute. He's taken to sneak-attack licking Percy, with Percy going, "WHAT?! WHAT. WHAT ARE YOU... okay, that's kind of nice... NO NO, GET AWAY." I will have to get pictures omg.

Auughaglsda;k DO NOT WANT opening the next two days. AUGH.
As I was drifting off during my just-got-off-of-work-at-10am nap, I thought to myself, WHY is everyone on House only referred to by their last names? And I tried for the life of me to remember Cuddy's first name, but no dice.

And speaking of which, I'm soooo behind on House and The Office, but I'm slowly catching up. I just watched the episode of House where the guy can't control what he says, and OH MY GAWWWWD HOUSE AND WILSON, SHUT UP I MAY HAVE DIED OF ADORABLE. So much hearts for eyes, you guys. AW.

Also, there is this:

Please let me find a new job soon. Pleasepleasepleaseplease. This is the fourth day in a row that I've had to get up 5:30 or earlier. Tomorrow I get to sleep in until 6am! SO EXCITING.

BUT, I got my $700 tax return check yesterday! AHHHH YESSS. I figured it would be soon, so I got a haircut on Sunday. I had about an inch and a half of split ends, WHUPS. So now it's that much shorter, and a nice long flippy layer in the back. AND I got a deep conditioning, so now it's really soft. Heee, every time I go in somewhere to get my hair cut, I pull down my hair and the lady always goes, "YOUR HAIR IS SO PRETTY OMG." That's always nice. :D

SO, if someone wanted to, say, visit New York, how long should that someone stay there to see everything that she truly needed to see? And what time of year would be best? I say this because, haha, my manager, who is awesome, despite the truly awful schedules and me wanting to leave, goes to Seattle ALL THE TIME for just a weekend trip, or something. She JUST went last weekend and this weekend she's going again. So I was like, "HEY UH, if I wanted to take a long weekend trip to New York, maybe, would you be cool with that?" And she was like, "I'd be upset if you DIDN'T go." Heh. We geek out about traveling together often. SO YEAH. New York. Adding that to my long list. :>

Tonight is Mexican and margarities, I hope! But for now, laundry.
