Oh my goodness. I both love and hate the finale for Dark Angel. Okay, so that's not true. Mostly I love. But there are these THINGS. Like, ew, condom-hands Logan feeling up Max. That is never okay. I don't think I can possibly roll my eyes harder or hit the fast forward button fast enough every single time Logan and Max have an AAAAANGST session together. And, okay, LOGAN IN GENERAL. I cannot like the man, mostly because I'm tainted with the dislike of Michael Weatherly The Douchebox (yes, that's his full title), as per this gossip article at TWOP. FOR EXAMPLE:

No matter why he was written out, Lydecker wasn't in the finale because Michael Weatherly fucked everything up. Weatherly wanted to run in a marathon, so filming had to accomodate his schedule. Thanks to Weatherly rearranging the filming schedule, it conflicted with John Savage's schedule, so we got no Lydecker in the finale.

AND

Michael Weatherly was a complete and total douchebag. He was seriously insecure about Jensen Ackles. He felt the fans liked Jensen and Alec more than him and Logan and Alec had more interesting things to do than Logan (and he wasn't really wrong there). He would count his lines in front of the whole cast and if Alec had more lines than Logan, he'd demand a rewrite. He also demanded a rewrite of a couple scenes, like pool scene in "Borrowed Time." Alec was supposed to win that one, but Weatherly pitched a bitch. Stuff like that.

Also, Cameron scrapped a bunch of Alec scenes/lines, which is never, ever okay. Oh, and if I recall correctly, he also added that part (at Weatherly's behest) about Logan saving Alec during the big fight scene at the end. Fucking ridiculous.

Okay, so I take with a teeeeeeny tiny grain of salt, but still. I MEAN, THAT LINE, IN THE SWAT VEHICLE AS THEY'RE DRIVING AWAY. "Dur hur, looks like that chick was beating your ass, Alec! I saved you! MAX DID YOU HEAR ME I SAVED ALEC WITH MY ROBO-LEGS BECAUSE I'M AWESOME." I wish Jensen would have rolled his eyes. That would have been awesome.

BUT can I just profess my undying love for Normal and Sketchy? There needs to be a spin-off called "Normal and Sketchy's Wacky Times at Jam Pony" guest starring Alec and his dumb antic every now and again. IT WOULD BE MY FAVORITE SHOW EVER, OKAY.

And oh my God, you guys, Aleeeeccc. I know, I know, I never shut up about it, but omg how can I love a character this much. I mean, there's Dean, and, you know how I feel about HIM, but then there's Alec, who simultaneously makes me suddenly lose my panties AND makes me emit high pitched noises of UTTER GLEE AND ADORABLENESS AND OF DYING ON THE INSIDE.

I am totally not ashamed to say that I would have killed for a season three, IF ONLY to see Max and Alec eat each other's faces on occasion, because you KNOW they were headed in that direction. Actually, that's pretty much all I'd care about. And, OKAY, Terminal City, fine. But the Breeding Cult needs to go die in a fire. Fast forward button, HELLO, HOW ARE YOU.





Shut UP with your FACE and how YOUNG HE LOOKS and the hair around his ears and oh God.



And if this isn't the cutest damn scene ever, I don't know what is.

Ugh, yes. You can totally tell, when Jensen now talks about his experiences on the set of Dark Angel, that he tries to steer away from it, like half the stuff he doesn't even want to remember, heh. I remember... it was a Con, I can't remember which one, but he said that him and Jessica didn't exactly click too well sometimes, but he ammended it with saying that she was stressed, blah blah, and that he met up with her sometime later after the show ended and they're on good terms now, so. TAKE THAT AS YOU WILL.

I always wondered about the finale (and avoided watching it for the longest time based on the little I'd heard about it). That explains a lot. :\ UGH. So fucking lame. Most of the time when I watch S2, I fast forward through non-Alec scenes. *shrugs* The Logan/Max stuff bores me to death and... that might be why I still haven't finished S1. Oops?

I love this show. Or rather, I love S1. S2 kind of sucks, a lot. But Alec and Joshua are the greatest things since sliced bread. Plus, there's Alec and Normal's insane crush on him that brings the LOLZ all over the place. They were SUPPOSED to have S3 but they greenlit Tru Calling because it was cheaper to make than DA, but that shitty show was never successful and got horrible ratings, BUT they did name a character Jensen since Jensen was offered the lead male role and turned it down lmao.

I like to think S3 in my mind, would have been good. They would have resolved that breeding cult bullshit real fast and then dealt with the war between the Normals and Transgenics, and Max and Logan would have got together (only because I kind of like Logan and I HATE Max and Alec is too good for her lol) and Alec would have stayed far away from Asha and made out with some really hot chicks and continued to be a bad ass on his motorcycle shooting guns and having beautiful hair.



In RL news, I kind of feel bad for Jensen. He got treated like shit on that set. Jessica Alba was a horrible bitch to him (she gives off that vibe - I don't think she's a nice person), Weatherly was a dick, and he had to deal with it all. And why - because he was too damn good and too damn pretty for that set. Everyone was jealous lol. And honestly, as far as acting talent and good looks go, Jensen >>>>> Al-bitch and Weatherly. I STILL don't know why Jessica Alba gets cast in so many movies; she's a shit actress and she's not as pretty as people make her out to be.

See, that's what I've heard, that S1 is soooo much better than S2, but hngh, I don't know if I want to sit through it without any Jensen (minus Pollo Loco, of course, which KILLS ME DEAD). Ha, I heard about that whole story with the TV writer getting them to name that character Jensen! That's so cool, oh man.

I think so too! Did you read in that gossip article that I posted that basically had a lot of concepts that they were thinking about? The former one sounds SO AWESOME. Seriously, it sometimes depresses me that it ended where it did.

YES, AHAHA I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. That is EXACTLY what I thought when I first started watching the series, asking why the HELL anyone would ship Max/Alec. But then, you know, I started doing the "fannon" thing of finding a fic where Max had enough of a subtle personality change that she wasn't such a huge bitch and they became more friendly, or whatever. Because unless she DID happen to have a bit of a personality change in the next season, it would have killed me to see Alec be pussy whipped, or something, by her. Ugh ugh ugh no.

Oh man, Alba DEFINITELY gives off that vibe to me too. They said she threw tantrums on set, and I've heard of instances where she was all out racist against her own background (Latino) and yeah. I really really do feel bad for Jensen for going through all that crap. It's good to know that he didn't fall into that same vicious cycle. ♥

I can barely stand to watch it. I don't really care about DA beyond the Jensen adorableness (never saw season 1, so I don't know the Max/Logan backstory, or really anything to do w/ Manticore beyond what we were shown in season 2), but dude, I feel SO BAD for Jensen for having to put up w/ that shit. No wonder he and Jared go out of their way to make THEIR set as fun and relaxed as humanly possible. And now I'm curious to know which set Jared was on that was like DA for Jensen, cause I seem to remember that he said they'd BOTH had experiences like that.

If you ignore the whole "alec isnt inm s1" s1 is better than s2. Their fight scenes are fucking AWESOME and the transgenic enhancements are way more cooler (let me break out my linguistics courses here, yo) and not as cheap sifi. Also, the plot line kinda sorta works. Also, LYDECKER IS A HORRIBLE PERSON WHO CUTS OUT EYES WITH SPOONS and then you kinda sorta love him anyways by the end of s2. Or, more, you understand his motivations and can sorta want to hug him. Or something. But yeah, I don't know what happened but s2 kinda has some issues. I still love it. And while I wish we had an s3, if how much the show went down between s1 and s2 I am not sure I want to know how the fxs and how the plot would have looked. it might have been super scary.

And all of that is pretty much a lot of the reason why I HATE Michael Weatherley, and then when he got signed onto NCIS, he says he takes a lot of his inspiration for his character on that show FROM JENSEN AS ALEC. YEAH COMPLETELY SERIOUS. I can't vouch for het fic, but most slash fic in NCIS fandom featuring his character has him either a.) BEING KIDNAPPED/TORTURED/ABUSED/IN NEED OF SAVING or b.) putting on an only-sometimes-metaphorical dog collar so he can please his master boss anyway he can!

It's a UH interesting fanbase, by which I mean its tendency for BDSM is kind of insane but it brings the lulz so hard! Particularly when Weatherly's character gets put through hell and STILL cannot reach sexual fulfillment. It speaks volumes for how much he FAILS AT LIFE AND ALWAYS WILL.
