Haha, okay, so! To explain myself a little bit better from my last post: I'm going to Comic Con! This was a very last minute decision, something that I don't do at ALL. But I thought a lot about it, and everything concerning it, and this is basically what I've come up with:

- I'm 20. I'm still living with my parents, no bills, no nuthin'. This just might be the only time I ever get to do something like this, as next year I'm planning on moving out. So I didn't plan this months in advance. So WHAT. I've never been spontaneous in my life, and this is a good thing to practice not being so.

- I've got a very good amount of money saved up, but all the same, I'm a very, uhm, shall we say, frugal person. Which is why spending over $400 on this plane ticket kind of hurts my insides a little. BUT, I will get over it VERY quickly when, you know, I see Jared and Jensen standing right the hell in front of me. OKAY. My bank account will rebuild itself. Eventually.

- This isn't, um, however, the only trip I'll be making this soon. July 27th-29th is this, and August 14th-21st I'll be in Utah visiting mah peeps. Even though my plane ticket is already paid for, I'll still need spending money, etc. And, uh, did I mention that I'm going to go to [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon in October? Because I am. Yeeeaaaah.

- The parents were mildly freaked when I told them about Utah. I'm surprised their heads didn't expload when I told them about Comic Con. My mom, God bless her, is very supportive but still nine kinds of worried, and my dad, really, doesn't want me to go at all, or at least cancel ONE of my trips because apparently three trips in three months is too much?? Which, NO. There's no way I'm backing out of anything now. I get it from their standpoint, I really do: I'm up and suddenly visiting people they have NO idea about, going to a city that I've never been to before and navagating it with another someone whom they, yet again, have NO idea about, and etc. But at the same time, I want them to understand that I love and need to do things like this to prove to myself that I'm capable of being on my own and managing situations and whatnot. It's my own money, too, and if I go broke for a little while... well, I dunno. I hardly ever splurge on myself, and yeah, they're pretty damn big splurges, by why the hell not, you know? I wanted to travel so bad, and this is my opportunity. Why can't I take it without feeling guilty?

But yeah. Neil Gaiman and Joss Whedon and Mike and the bots from MST3K and JARED AND JENSEN AND KRIPKE OMFG. YOU GUYS. I am not lying when I say I've had (and am going to have) a terminal case of butterflies in my stomach until it's over. If I don't puke it'll be a MIRACLE. So yes. [livejournal.com profile] logicandchaos and I have a hostel booked that is like, FIVE MINUTES from the convention center, and pretty much all you're going to hear about for a while afterwards about this is THESE PICS blah blah blah and how stupid I am for Jensen. Which. I kind of do anyway now, so, uh.

And, umm, just because I should probably talk about something else, I'm kind of in LOVE with Flight of the Concords. YAYE.

It's probably sad that I'm more excited about Neil Gaiman than Jared and Jensen. :[ I WANTS TO GO. But I hope you have tons and tons and tons of fun and sniff Jensen and Jared for me and then report back to me about how good they smell so I can live vicariously through you. God, that sounds so creepy.

THE MAN IS MY HERO. And dude, I have wondered myself how manly and amazing they would probably smell with like, cologne and stuff. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. A;lkajsdl;asdfja;d.

I think it's so awesome that you're taking off on these adventures on your own. I guess I can understand your parents' concern, too, but I am SO HAPPY for you (and yes, a little jealous, too) and I know you're going to have an absolutely fabulous time!

I think you should print out your SPN/Transformers crossover and take it with you to give to J2 and/or Kripke. Because it is just that awesome.

This is exactly what I wanted to do this summer, just impromptu adventures, and yeah, I too can understand where my parents are coming from, but this is just so exciting! PS: 29 DAYS ALSDJFA;LSDJ!!!

HEEEE OMG. I so should! It would be worth it just to see the looks on their faces!

DUDE!! This post is SO ME! Like, as I was reading it, I thought maybe I'd actually written it myself and just forgot or something, LOL. I'm going to Comic Con, too, after a kind of mishap w/ our Vancouver trip (very long story). But yeah, I was terrified of telling my parents, but surprisingly, they took it much better than I anticipated. And I'm a rather frugal person myself. I just simply don't have a lot of money to spend on these things, but yet I seem to continue to do just that, lol (this is my 3rd trip having something to do w/ either Jared or Jensen - or both - just since February). And I may or may not be rescheduling my Vancouver trip for later in the summer/early fall, so yeah, I hear ya about the money. ;)

But just remember : JARED AND JENSEN AND KRIPKE!! WOO!! You can't beat that!! :D

You're going too! How awesome! I have a question for you, and I hope it won't seem to forward, but, um. I got an email back from the hostel I had reserved saying that they had no clue how open reservations were on their site because they have NONE, and hadn't had any since April, and I'm kind of freaking the fuck out right now. So my question would be, where are you staying? If it's at a motel, is there any possible chance that we could maybe just sneak in and crash on the floor for the nights? I'll give you extra monies. I honest to God don't even know what to do right now, besides emailing the hostel back with a very very angry letter.

Weee, nevermind! It's been sorted out.

But, um, yes! That's so awesome that you're going too! Me and [livejournal.com profile] logicandchaos are gonna get in the line for the SPN panel waaaay early, because there's NO chance I'm gonna miss them just because we didn't get there on time! So we'll definitely have to meet up! :D!

Oh good, I'm glad to hear that you got it worked out! I'm not even sure as of right now what our final sleeping arrangments are (we do have a hotel booked, but it's all the way almost to the Mexican border cause that was the closest cheap hotel we could find that wasn't totally booked, but we may be staying w/ someone else for the night before the con so we don't have to travel 30 minutes so early in the morning), so I wasn't sure how to respond to your last comment. But yay! We DEFINITELY have to meet up! I'm planning on camping out in that room as soon as we can get in, lol. And actually, most of the stuff I want to see is in that room in various parts of the day anyway, so it works out fine for me! :D

Oh God, I so so SO hate doing this but, um, I don't know if you saw the predicament above but the hostel definitely emailed me saying they don't know why they booked me because they don't have any rooms, and I am kind of like, "!!!!!!!" But, um, okay, well, shit. If not, seriously, it's cool, I don't want you to feel obligated or anything, buuuut, would it be possible, maybe, if [livejournal.com profile] logicandchaos and I could crash at your place for the two nights? Gaaah, I seriously feel ten times of awful just asking, ahaha, but seriously, if not, that's totally okay. I'd totes buy you a Saturday pass, because seriously, that's the least I could do, hahaha. So yeah. I'm going to shut up now, heh.

Oh man. I would totally invite y'all to crash at my place if my roommate weren't going. She invited people, like a lot, and it will be a zoo. I AM SORRY. IF ONLY MY APARTMENT WERE BIGGER WE'D BE ONE BIG HAPPY COMIC CON FAMILY.

I guess you two could squeeze into my little closet of a room but OH MY GOD ONLY ONE BATHROOM BETWEEN SO MANY PEOPLE IT WILL BE NUTS

Which night would most of the people be staying? 'Cause I was thinking, really, that we'd only really need Friday night, because Saturday we could just stay as long as possible at the Con and then head over to the airport and sleep there until our early AM flights, heh. I will seriously sleep standing up, if that's what it takes, as we're nearly bordering on desperate, but obviously it's your place and I DEFINITELY understand the bathroom situation hee.

And also, WHY AREN'T YOU DEFINITELY COMING TO THE CON, HUH HUH. You shooouuld! I will be AWESOME TIMES. Well, obviously you know that, since you've been and I haven't! Heee.

Okay, we will have the most people over on Thursday evening, I believe. After that there will be five people in the apartment every night. I asked my roommate if she'd be fine with two extra people crashing on Friday, and she gave the thumbs up so YAY WELCOME ABOARD? :D

I am not going to the Con because I am LOLOL SO BROKE my wallet cries out of poverty.

Holy FUCK you are AMAZING and my HERO!!!!!! Seriously, I CANNOT thank you enough. And babe, pick a day you want to go, because we are TOTALLY buying a ticket for you, no question about it. I would BAKE YOU A CAKE but I do not think they allow that on planes. EEEEE THANK YOU SO SO MUCH. <33333333

*grins* You're very welcome. I'd hate for you *not* to have a place to stay! And omg :> you are so generous; thank you! I'll have to look at the Con's schedule and ask around to see which days some of my friends are going, but wow, for sure I'll let you know~ I really appreciate it. <3333

Okay. So, MAYBE, there's a *slight* possibility we could work this out. [livejournal.com profile] mosaic is on my FList and she lives in San Diego. She offered to ask her roommates if it would be okay for us to crash there. The problem is that, she said she checked the bus commutes and stuff for us, and it would be over an hour to get to the convention center and then, of course, over an hour to get to her place, and then I'm assuming the same amount of time to get back to the airport...unless we just stayed at her place Friday night, stayed at the Con as long as possible on Saturday night, then just headed straight to the airport and waited for our flight. I told her if this works out, I'd totally buy her a Saturday badge, since she was expressing interest in wanting to see the SPN and MST3K panels. (So I think I'm gonna take a gamble on there being Friday badges left when I get paid.)

But I'm thinking this is a long shot. If I was one of her roommates, I'd tell her she was out of her mind! haha....oooh, I should ask her how much that bus ride would cost...

Thoughts?

But then I just realized that would mean carrying our bags around the Con, since we wouldn't have anywhere to put them...unless...does the airport maybe have lockers we could use? ARGH. This is so frustrating!

From: [identity profile] caithream.livejournal.com
Okay, awesome! That's better than nothing, I guess, seeing as how I'm TOTALLY more than willing to sleep at the airport, ahaha. Yeah, definitely! If she and her roommates are cool with it. I'll definitely pitch in some money to help pay for the badge, 'cause seriously.

The airport might have lockers! The con might even have them too. Hmm. If not, I'll just carry around the most meager of my items in a backpack, or something, heh.
