"I hit you with your own PIMP."
May. 27th, 2006 01:47 amThings I really liked:
- Kelsey Grammar = SERIOUSLY AWESOME?!?!11 He was pretty freaking great.
- Ben Foster too. Wings! Srsly.
- Hugh Jackman's muscles. Uhhhhha;skmdfngvuaio;wjmlakesgansjdl. Yes please.
- "I'M THE JUGGERNAUGHT, BITCH." AHAHHA;SDHAHHAHA;LSKDJFA;LKSNDMAS. SERIOUSLY. GREATEST. EVER. I totally did not see that coming, and I was laughing so hard I had tears, man. Oh. Fantastic.
- The opening sequence. Logan trying to light his cigar ahahaha!
Things that made me give a serious "WTF?":
- Rogue, Magneto, and Mystique all loosing their powers?! Wha...? That's... that's them! Their defining character! That was just way too weird for me. And I never even read the comic books/new about the characters/was obsessed.
- PEOPLE DYING?!?! Jimmy, the expert at most things Marvel, turned to me at the end of the movie and said, "Yeah, um... no one ever died, and that was really stupid." Like... why couldn't Logan have given Jean Gray the cure, or something? Killing her? Srsly? I was pretty shocked.
- It moved way too fast. Like, you know how in X2 when everyone went to Bobby's house? And people like, sat down and discussed things? And showed more character? Yeah, kinda missed that.
- Bobby/Kitty Pryde wtf? I really liked Kitty but... quite suddenly he doesn't pay any more attention to Rogue.
I don't know. I liked it and I didn't. I'm a little disappointed, mostly. I really wish the same director would have directed it, but man, Superman looks like it's going to kick some major arse, so, who knows. I really do love the whole X-Men world and the characters and whatnot, but this just seemed a bit out of left field. I think I'll just stick with X2, maybe.
Erin and I went to the beach today to get down to some serious tanning business... aaaand ended up frying ourselves, pretty much. My shoulders feel like they're suddenly going to combust, and even the back of my hands are sunburnt. Gah. *Bathes in aloe*

Date: 2006-05-27 10:06 am (UTC)which I want NO ONE to pick apart, so I sat back with my family and my popcorn and enjoyed the comic relief and special effects, heh. But that's just me.The hardcore fans will have tons to complain about, I'm sure, but I was just glad to get out of the house and be entertained for a change. Call me crazy.
*goes with you to see Superman, but possibly not Posieden because I have a God-awful fear of suffocation and I just might SCREAM during the movie ... like a lot*

Date: 2006-05-28 05:33 am (UTC)Oh, believe me, me too. For some reason, I always end up falling in love with movies that everyone else dislikes for whatever reason. I really loved this one too (explosions! muscles! SUPREME ONE-ON-ONE MUTANT ACTION!), but maybe it was because I was with someone who knows the storyline pretty well to call the BS.... But, as I am usually not so much of a nit-picker, I will definitely be seeing it again. :D
Omg I've always wanted to know: how do they do movies in other countries that are produced in English? Do they dubb the speech, or just give subtitles? I still have no idea why I don't know this yet, and I haven't yet gone to another country to find out for myself. :(

Date: 2006-05-28 08:52 am (UTC)They do do the subtitle thing once in a while, like if it's a musical and they don't change the english in the songs.
