Wishing you were here
Dec. 22nd, 2003 02:08 pm1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
I was forced onto a rollercoaster even though I really didn't want to and fell in love.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make New Year resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Hm. Nope, not that I can remember.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No. Thank goodness.
5. What countries did you visit?
None. I'm so boring.
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
Mmph. Will-power. I'd like to loose at least 10 more pounds.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Oh, Lord, there's so many. I'll always remember when the shuttle blew up, when they caught Saddam, when Bob Hope died, etc. The biggest, however, will be the second RotK started.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Making my way through the two weeks before and the week of exams. Oy. And finally getting my permit. Heh.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Trust. In others and in myself.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing terrible.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
EE of TTT. My Merreh and Pippin shirt. And my Coldplay shirt with the lyrics to "Don't Panic" on it, direct from England.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
The lads. And everyone here. :D
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
A lot of everything, really. Some things online, my friends sometimes, you know. But nothing to make a dent, or anything.
14. Where did most of your money go?
The very little money I myself had went to a few items of clothing, CD's, and stuff for others for Christmas.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
EE of TTT. RotK. Just having a chance to talk with everyone on MSN.
16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
See, now, with myself and my music I always associate my music with what year and time of the year I was into it. Coldplay will incessantly remind me of about January through April, Fluke, The Postal Service and the soundtrack to the Matrix Reloaded will always remind me of this summer, Juno Reactor and the Matrix Revolutions soundtrack of this fall and Josh Groban of the winter. Of course there are others, but that's the main bunch.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Sadder. In a good way. I think.
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner I do believe.
iii. richer or poorer? Poorer. Soon to change. :)
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Exercise. Things with friends.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying. Computer stuff. Complaining.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With my mom, dad, sister, and two Omas. I love it.
22. Did you fall in love in 2003?
No.
23. How many one-night stands?
None.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Ehh. For the little TV I did watch, Conan O'Brien, Kids in the Hall, SNL, and the food channel. And HBO.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Uhh... no? I don't really keep track of this sort of thing.
26. What was the best book you read?
1984
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Juno Reactor, The Postal Service, Fluke, and I'm thinking just right now Badly Drawn Boy
28. What did you want and get?
Excellent friends. A computer in my room with DSL. How can you go wrong.
29. What did you want and not get?
Hobbits. :(
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Return of the King. Hands fecking down.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Fun little get together with my friends. 16.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Actually doing things that I claimed I would do.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Err...um? T-shirts and jeans. That's fun.
34. What kept you sane?
I'm sane?
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Aaaahhahaha.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
War on Iraq.
37. Who did you miss?
Deborah
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Kate!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003.
I learned a lot about life in general. How people really think and how the world really moves. That sometimes observing is a million times better than opening your mouth rashly.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"Oh, we're sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
All those places we've gone,
All of us are done for.
We live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world,
Oh, we're sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
All those places we've gone,
All of us are done for.
We live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world.
Oh, all that I know,
There's nothing here to run from,
And there, everybody here's got somebody to lean on."
-Coldplay, Don't Panic
Still not feeling good. Bored out of my mind. Which is better that being stressed out of my skull, I'm sure. I'm going to the doctor in about an hour (not for why I've been feeling crappy lately, something different) and I really don't feel like going. Blah!
I'm in a quandry. Tomorrow I told Jimmy I'd go see RotK with him but I thought Catie, who is going to see it today, would be coming with us. I don't know if she'd like to see it twice in two days. So, uh, yeah, seeing it alone with Jimmy would be kind of awkward. I know, I'm weird like that. :\

Date: 2003-12-23 07:04 am (UTC)Miss Sarah, you are so so sweet. Stumbling into the EWFN a bit over a year ago and eventually running into people like you has quite possibly changed my life in little but absolutely wonderful ways. I'm so very grateful.
