EEEEE AHHHH [livejournal.com profile] la_victorienne! I got the books! THANK YOU SO MUCH! She didn't just rec me books, she SENT them to me! The Wives of Henry Oades and All We Ever Wanted Was Everything. ILU TO BITS AND PIECES THANK YOUUU! ♥

SO SO SO the kitty came around this evening to hang out in our garage and I had to take a video.

I KNOW I know my stupid words and noises. Just read the video description okay?

This past Thursday I FINALLY got a call from an actual place where I had submitted my resume. A law office about 7 minutes away from me wanted to schedule an appointment with me this Wednesday! CARTWHEEL! I'm mostly excited because it'll look really good on my resume and if I get it, I'll probably be making a lot more money than I was at Starbucks. I am nervous about the fact that it's a full time job, though. I've never actually held a full time, 40 hour a week every week job, so.

I'm also of course SUPER nervous about the interview so, uh, pointers? Tips? Things I should ask/things I SHOULDN'T ask? This is so silly, but I'm kinda concerned about um... taking time off. I'll (hopefully) be going out of state at the end of March and sometime in May, but... how do I ask about this? SHOULD I even ask about it? Just as like, a passing question, "Oh, I was just wondering about how taking time off works here, I might be going somewhere during these times"? I don't knoooow. Ughhh I hope it goes okay and I like the people and the work doesn't suck, etc etc. I also put an application in at a Starbucks in this cutesy downtown area and I'm going to call the manager there tomorrow, just in case the law office doesn't pan out.

Also, does anyone have Hearing Damage by Thom Yorke? It's on the freaking Twilight soundtrack but... THOM YORKE, OKAY.

Oh good, thank you! I always wonder how other companies manage taking time off, since with Starbucks we were open like, 17 hours a day, 7 days a week, so taking time off didn't really matter, as you'd get your 30 hours a week in somehow. But I don't know how stringent Mon-Fri/9-5 companies are about that kind of stuff. Probably also depends on the company.

It definitely does. You should be able to kind of suss out the vibe, how easy-going they seem. When I interviewed for my current job, I was planning a fannish moot trip, so I know what you're going through! Once I found out they were pretty generous with time off, I didn't mention it until after I got the job.

Oh, yes, perfect. Man, I really hope they do have a laid-back atmosphere. Last time I worked in an office my manager was an ex-marine and was nice, but still scared the shit out of me, so much so that I'd have a shaky voice when asking for time off, haha!
