There's quite honestly nothing I can say to properly tell you about the Grand Canyon. It's. God. It's absolutely fucking massive. It's dizzying. It's quiet. It's still. It's humbling. I know it's been said a million times, but these pictures do it absolutely no justice. You look over the edge of a railing and it's just straight down, forever. It's absolutely amazing.

But first! We stop for gas off of Route 66 in somewhere's-ville Arizona.

Our campsite! We had that tent up in 20 minutes flat, OH YEAH. It was sooooo nice. I still smell like smoke from the nightly fires. So many stars.

Our first glimpse.

At 7000+ feet elevation, I was wheezing a little.

Zooming aaaall the way down into the valley where there was a ranch.

Colorado River.

YEP.

And then the evening came and it was beyond amazing. Beyond everything.

But first...

I mean, you CAN'T go to the Grand Canyon and NOT DO jumping pics, C'MON.

And this was just yesterday morning, the Watchtower on the eastern side.

There's got to be some way out of here...

...said the Joker to the thief.

And then we bade our goodbyes and drove 11 hours up through Arizona and Utah back to Salt Lake.

The road goes ever on and on.

I'm of course back home now, and pretty much completely depressed about it. My only saving grace at the moment is the fact that I don't have to be back into work until the 4th, so I can relax at home for a few more days. I need the money like whoa, but I'm pretty sure I need my sanity more.

I've got a bunch more Comic Con SPN panel vids to put up, but it looks like I've been beaten to the punch, sigh! Oh well, maybe I'll still put them up anyway. Also, I am HIGHLY disappointed that whoever got the gag reel missed the very end, which pretty much makes me pee a little just thinking about it. OKAY SEPTEMBER 1ST, LET'S GET A MOVE ON.

I have so much to catch up on! And more pics to post of the San Diego Zoo that I never got around to doing. YAY for having a few days off before it's back to the AWFUL AWFULNESS. :((((

Woooah, your first shot before the cut is stunning. Before your pics, I actually had no desire to see the Grand Canyon, but now I definitely want to, it looks really impressive and awesome.

Also, I think I've asked you this before, but what kinda camera do you have? I wanna get me a good one soon, and yours seems super great. :D

Yeah, it was something I had kinda thought about in the back of my mind until I was actually THERE and WHOA. It's just CRAZY PRETTY.

I've got the Canon Powershot S5 IS and I looooove it. Though we just recently got my dad the Panasonic Lumix and it is also quite sexy and shoots REALLY nice pictures. Now I'm sure you could probably find something a little cheaper and just as good on cnet.com or something, but I'd try to stick more to a Canon or Panasonic if possible! :D
