SO, okay, I really need to get the ball rolling on losing a just few more pounds - just five would be AWESOME - because my self-esteem is all, LOL NONEXISTANT, and my cousin's wedding is coming up in like, five weeks, and you know how that goes, with a dress and all. SO I NEED YOUR HELP.

1) Gym, everyday (except for today because aughghhs 8 hour shift and oh God, my back, I am EIGHTY) until I leave for my trip in two weeks. I'm getting on exhausting my workout music playlist, so upload me your workout music! My list basically consists of Ladytron, Muse, the Run Lola Run soundtrack, The Faint, Rage Against the Machine, and other random stuff like hard 'n' heavy classic rock, crazy-ass adrenaline-fuled techno, and the occasional top 40/rap that no white girl like myself should have rights to listen to. SO YES. Anything in that sort of vein, or anything that you think it just plain awesome, I would love!

2) This is a srs interesting article, especially the part about bagels and cream cheese not being anywhere near ideal, as I could have sworn I heard somewhere that carbs in the morning were actually good for you. Oh well. ANYWAY, I've been meaning to get into drinking more tea, because it's awesome and, as per the article, stuff like green tea really has amazing benefits. I did a little more research and obviously the best way to get all the benefits of green tea is to drink it loose leaf, but I have NO idea where to buy loose leaf that's NOT on the internet. I'd rather just go to a store and pick some up myself. Obviously there's Teavana, which is an awesome store (and also where I plan on buying this, LOOK HOW CUTE IT IS), but I don't know if their tea is overpriced or not. Kind of like, you know, if it's the Starbucks in the world of tea. So yeah, if anyone could recommend me a) where to buy loose leaf tea or b) what variety of green tea is best/tastes better/has the best benefits, that would be awesome!

Two WEEKS. I could tell you how excited I am in words, but I don't think the meaning would quite come across! AAAHH.

'scuse me while i geek for a minute...

i used to work in an international tea lounge, so i think i can help. ...it does seem like the tea on that website is a bit over priced, but it really depends more on the quality. adagio teas (adagio.com) is always pretty good and has dependably high quality tea. green tea is very good for you -- also worth looking into are aged teas (pu-erh, named after the reigion of china from whence they came) which reduces cholesterol and has all kinds of other benefits. it does taste rather earthy, but it's good stuff. also even better for you is yerba mate, which is actually just amazing. really i'd just look for a good co-op/hippie store (if they have them in florida?) -- they always have good prices on loose leaf tea. as far as which green tea tastes best -- well, it depends on your tastes!

Omg adagio teas is AWESOME. I just ordered a small batch of green pekoe to start. Thanks so much for the heads up! And ooh, I don't know if there are any hippie-like stores around here, hmm. I suspect they don't really go about with the advertising. I'll have to look around. Eee, thanks so much for your help! <3

no prob, man! i love tea and have lots of random knowledge about it stored up in my head, i'm always glad to pull a little out. i do really recommend mate -- it's actually not a tea and contains no caffeine; it just tastes a lot like green tea and is packed full of vitamins and minerals and a caffeine-like substance that'll give you a similar effect. but anyway, tea=awesome, for sure.

Have you ever tried working out to Vivaldi? No, seriously. Try it next time you're on the treadmill. Or Mozart. Any classical music that's not, uh, lugubrious, really.

Try it! :D

FOR REAL? Oh man, I love Vivaldi. I'll definitely have to give that a try, thanks! :D

Carbs in the morning ARE good, if you're trying to lose weight. It's a fairly recent study, though - maybe this article was written before it came out?

Oh good, you read that too! I'm almost giving up on following weight-loss/nutrition studies, because they always seem to flip flop back and forth more times than you can count.

Munchkin, I am so on board with you. I am trying so hard to get back on track and be good and do all the things I'm supposed to do, BUT I AM A LAZY ASS THAT ONLY MOVES FOR CULINARY DELIGHTS LIKE FUNNY BONES. See, even calling you munchkin makes me go, "mmm, donuts..."

YOU are an adorable skinny-minny... So you should bear that in mind.

I never realized how hard it is to eat healthy when you live on your own omg. :(((

Aw, you. <333333

It's not easy. It certainly isn't cheap. I don't live on my own, but I'm obviously in charge of feeding myself, and it's hard to get up the will to shop and cook for just yourself. Or to get up the cash to feed everyone else.

When I do the treadmill I usually listen to either 1) angry stuff like Rob Zombie that will make be all HELL YES I WILL WALK THE SHIT OUT OF YOU TREADMILL or 2) silly stuff like Pet Shop Boys and the Zoolander soundtrack to make me giggle and stay motivated.

ROB ZOMBIE! Yes, I have been meaning to download a CD or two of his. I, uh, own the Matrix soundtrack and have kind of been in love with it for years and years, so that should be right up my alley. THANKS! <3

I've seen your photos and don't think you need to lose weight, but it's your call. You're pretty the way you are. :)

Loose tea: I've seen it available in mass market grocery stores and ethnic grocery stores. Chinese stores have a lot of it. I've seen them there when we get bagged tea.

Aw, that's very kind of you! I've never exactly had the best self-esteem, unfortunately.

In grocery stores, huh. Would you happen to know any of the brand names for it? And DUH, ethnic grocery stores! I'm sure there's got to be an Oriental grocery store around here. Thanks!

I don't recall any of the brand names. The ones I've been told were good are some tins with each variety having a different coloured tin and pictures of pagodas, etc on them. One of them was called "China Green". I can't read Chinese characters so that's all I know.

Oh, and in your grocery store, check out the organic/health foods section and the ethnic grocery sections along with the typical teas area. Tea is all over the place and there's some in each area, usually.

Green tea is supposed to be really good for you, and help with weight loss, too! On Thursday morning, before we take off, I should take you downtown, we've got two shops with AWESOME tea selections.

Also, um, I spent two weeks working out to Crazy Love on repeat because the rhythm matches my running stride, HAA.

I don't know if you drink soda or coffee, but cutting both of those out of your diet will make you drop weight instantly. And cheese as well. I limited myself to only eating cheese once a week, and I've lost like 10 lbs in the last 3 weeks or so{and that's without really excercising or anything}. And make sure you get green tea WITHOUT high-fructose corn syrup...it's basically fake sugar and it's super bad for you. Good luck!

Actually I was raised to not be a big soda drinker, and even now I still see it as an occasional "treat," so it's too bad I can't cut that out of my diet, heh. I loooove cheese though, but I still cut it off from my sandwiches whenever I make one, so maybe I'll have to try that! Thanks!

You probably don't need to lose weight as much as tone up. That's my problem too. I'm not, you know, tubby at all, but I do jiggle here and there. Yeah, have your carbs in the morning because carbs help your body work out more and longer -- so I don't think your bagel with cream cheese will hurt you any, as long as you don't eat like TEN of them and don't pile like a pound of cream cheese on each one!;p Just be sure to drink plenty of water (or the green tea if you like).

And don't eat too late at night.

Oh, and drink low-fat milk when you get hungry between meals, it actually HELPS you lose weight.

I have to go to a wedding in like 4 weeks, so I've got to start working out too, eek!
