I am a huge whore for soundtrack scores. The more beautiful, sad, and moving, the more I love them. Movie-wise, my favorites happen to be The Village, Da Vinci Code (I know, I KNOW, I absolutely loathe the book and haven't seen the movie, but my GOD the soundtrack is beautiful), The Fountain, Gladiator, and pretty much anything by Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer, and James Newton Howard. But I also like soundracks like Fight Club and 300 for their uniqueness, so it's pretty much all around the board. THAT BEING SAID, I am really starting to dig some of the little tiny snippets of FANTASTIC soundtrack that SPN is throwing in! I mean, yeah, the season 1 soundtrack was okay (I really really loved "Boys Break In" though, SO AWESOME), but during the show I would notice that they would reuse the same pieces of soundtrack over and over spanning throughout the season, which really did not thrill me. BUT OOH, SEASON 3. The one that I think a lot of people can remember is that scene in Fresh Blood where Sam says, "I just wish you would drop the show and be my brother again" (which someone so awesomely made into a sound clip so you can download it!) because it was NEW to the sound of the show and gave the scene that much more of an emotional depth. Dream a Little Dream of Me has two of my favorites thus far. The first starts about 25:12 when the boys are looking for Jeremy and Bobby's, "Oh... yeah... right... Flagstaff." It's just... I DUNNO! Very different to what the show normally sounds like, but I LIKE it, lots. And then again (I've been listening to this snippet nonstop) at around 30:35 when real!Dean confronts nightmare!Dean, it's HAUNTING and beautiful and I REALLY REALLY wish they'd use more of that kind of music (when appropriate) because it fits in wonderfully with scenes like that.

I just really really like that they're finally branching out with their soundtrack to be more than harsh notes on the piano or other jarring attempts to get to the audience. Season 2 even had a few fantastic pieces; I remember specifically from What Is and What Should Never Be, the scene at the end where everyone is trying to convince Dean to stay has a BEAUTIFUL piano piece that chokes me up spectacularly. I've been crossing my fingers like a mad woman hoping that a soundtrack of S2 (and hopefully S3) will be released, even if it's the kind of bootlegged version of S1 that we got. Is it really to much to ask! I DON'T THINK SO.

I cannot even tell you how utterly GORGEOUS it was today. Stayed around 55, clear blue skies, sunny. I drove all the way home from Tampa, on the INTERSTATE, with my windows down and blasting Zeppelin, because it was just that kind of day. AUGH. I wish it was like this ALL THE TIME.

New stills from Heart! EEEP JARED. ♥

And my Radiohead tickets came in the mail today! YEEEE! I cannot waaaait.

I think I'm gonna go watch some Dark Angel. TELL NO ONE.

OH, and aww, the comments on the Testimonial meme! You guys are AWESOME. <3

Oh God, that score from Fresh Blood absolutely BROKE my heart. ;_; I wish they'd use more of this kind of music, too. It's just gorgeous, and it makes all the heart-wrenching pain even more emotional. Oh show. ♥

I am jealous of your good weather.

Where and how did you nab the S1 soundtrack? I've never even heard of it being released!

Part one and part two! It wasn't ever released, which is a total bummer. It got leaked online and spread throughout the community, heh.

And City of Angels! I've heard of it, but I don't have it. I'll totally look in to getting it, yeee!

Just for a snippet, this is from In My Time of Dying, set to the City of Angels soundtrack. Perfect right? It won't give you a whole taste of the soundtrack, but at least you'll catch the main theme. Gabriel Yared is a genius.

I know right?! Ok, so bear with me. I just really want you to hear how AWESOME this soundtrack is, because like you, I'm a soundtrack fiend. Try this link (not sure if it'll work- you might have to log in). Click on the City of Angels one. I suggest wearing headphones and really letting the score seep into your cerebral cortex, because it is GORGEOUS. A lot better than the SPN video. Sorry if it doesn't work.

See, that's why I love Apocalyptica so much. They're like soundtracks, only you can make up your own movie in your head because they didn't do it already. And I would be THRILLED BEYOND BELIEF if SPN ever used an Apocalyptica piece in the show, because so much of their music just FITS them!
