I think... I think I was just asked out on a date.

Ummmm. So, guy at work who is really sweet, right? I've blabbed about him a few times. So, he calls me and asks me if I'm doing anything, and I say no, not really, and he says, did you maybe want to hang out tonight? And MY BRAIN is like, "???!!!!" But um, I already had plans to hang out with my girlfriends at this other coffee shop (WEIRD, I KNOW, since I work at one), but I told him I was really really sorry, maybe some other time? And I've told him about this other coffee shop before, so it's not like I was making it up or anything, heh. But, um. YEAH. I thought I was going to set off the fire alarm in my room because I was so bright red. And by "hang out" I'm not exactly sure it he meant "hang out with you" or "hang out with a bunch of other people from work." But still. He's really really sweet, and funny and kinda cute, but I'm not. I dunno! I'm not sure. I'm more than probably leaving in six months anyway, so. But I'm incredibly ridiculously nervous. I've yet to ever be asked out on a date, or a "hang out," or WHATEVER, and just the thought of, uhh, being alone and like, TALKING. It's terrifying. Alkajsdlkfjs WHATEVER, I could just be jumping to conclusions.

But still. :D



KATE, CHRISSY, AND CHAREST. Because yes, Chrissy is coming! YAAAAY! Okay, so, um. I'm gonna buy us our tickets, yeah? Are we all cool on the General Weekend ticket, rows 8-14? If not, if it's too expensive or something, LET ME KNOW. I want to know, srsly. As for add-ons, Chrissy and I were thinking maybe the Saturday banquet? But that can be bought at a later time, if need be. I'm thinking of buying the tickets tomorrow if I have the okay from everyone. And Char, let me know if I need to get one for Jeffrey too!

Alsooo, the Ten Inch Hero screening is an extra $10, if you wanna do that, but it looks like our seats will be the reserved seats that we bought, so that's pretty cool.

ALSO ALSO, it looks like Chrissy will have to leave on that Monday, but she's looking to get a flight late that afternoon. So did we maybe want to go to a theme park or something? Sea World, maybe? Heeee. If not, there's always Downtown Disney, which has a bunch of cool things to do too.

Anyway, LET ME KNOW ASAP! I want to buy the tickets as quick as possible. GAWD I'M SO STUPIDLY EXCITED. I can't wait to use my new kick ass cameraaaa.

Thanks to stepliana, I've been staring at these absolutely amazing colored photographs circa the 1930-40's all evening. Absolutely amazing. I just love looking at all the people, and the effects of the Dust Bowl, which is really just amazing because I'm reading The Grapes of Wrath right now, and wow. I don't know why, but seeing all this in color just makes it feel so much more... real. Like B&W isn't? It's absurd, I know.

Okee, bedtime. Early, long ass shift tomorrow, SIGH.

I'm SO EXCITED for EyeCon now!! Well, I was before, but now even moreso!! And that will make TWO TIH screenings in 2 months!! WOO for us!!

Also, it's just 2 weeks until the one in Gainseville, should we start thinking about placed to meet up for those carpooling w/ you?

One other question : Are you able to access the EyeCon website at all right now? Cause I've tried 3 browsers, and it keeps telling me it can't find the server, and I'm freaking out cause I wanna get the TIH tickets really soon.

Yeah, definitely! I was kind of wondering, if um. Maybe if it's possible, all meeting at one place, and then we can start the drive from there? Because as awesome as you guys are, and as stoked as I am to have us all go together, after that long drive back I'll definitely want to go home and crash, ahaha. But if you really need me to, I can drop you guys back off at your respected places no problem. :D

Oh definitely!! I always planned on meeting you closer to where you live, then going from there. I would never expect you to drive an extra hour+ after the 4 or so hours it takes just to get back from Gainseville! I was just wondering where would be convenient for you to meet us. I'm not QUITE sure where you live, and I'm not really familiar w/ the Tampa/St. Pete area, so I was hoping you could make it a larger landmark so it's easier to find.

Hmmm, that really sucks for me, then. If I can't get it by morning, I forsee a trip to the library in my future.

Yeah, a safe place for my car would be appreciated, lol. I'm hoping to take my mom's to EyeCon (since her Spring Break falls on the beginning of that weekend), but for this, I gotta use my poor old baby, so I need to make sure it won't be towed or anything, lol.

Well, my mom says the Countryside Mall is really easy to find, so that's fine by me. I don't really mind driving a bit farther if I know for sure I won't get lost trying to meet ya'll, LOL! And yeah, if we could just make sure to find a place for me to park so I won't get towed, it's all good! ;D

If we could leave Gainesville, by say, midnight, we could probably be back at around 3am. But yeah, I guess if we could just meet up at Countryside Mall, or something, we can decide from there if we wanna leave the car(s) somewhere else or if just there will be fine. Or, pfft, yeah, the Campus Walk plaza would be a-okay for me too, because that's real close to me as well. Plus it would be right off of 19 for Laurel, so... haha! I dunno! Whatever's easiest for her and you, I guess, since I'm smack in the middle of all these, heh.

Heee, I live right off of 580 and Belcher! Small world. I was maybe thinking of meeting at Countryside Mall, but I had no clue that Laurel needed to drive that far up here! I was trying to think of anywhere more south that we could meet, but I really don't know the areas south of here too well. Largo and such. Any ideas?

Hmm, yeah. Both redina and I live, uh, I guess it would north on 19 for you. Dunedin/Clearwater, really, not Tampa. Here! A map that hopefully works for you, haha. Aaaand, eep, wow, looking at a map from Nokomis to my place is like, another hour and a half! I had no idea! Damn.

Well, okay, um, I'll just tell you what I had in mind, haha. I was thinking about meeting together at about 3:00/3:30ish on that Friday, 'cause directions say it takes about nearly three hours to drive up to Gainesville from Dunedin. I know the show ain't starting until 8:00, but I figure it would be good to have that much buffer time for traffic, pit stops, dinner when we arrive, meeting with other fangirls, etc. As for where to meet? Gah, I don't even know! There's a pretty big mall not far from where both redina and I live, but it sucks ass that you have to drive that far! If you see anything along the way of that map that might be better for you, let me know!

3:00-ish sounds fine, I was gonna suggest we get a semi-early start, as well, cause you never know what traffic is gonna be like and all that. Like I said in response to redina's comment, I don't mind having to drive a bit farther to meet you guys, as long as I can easily find where we're meeting, lol. I'm so afraid I'm gonna get myself lost, I'll probably leave an hour early, haha. But yeah, I'm just grateful that I'm able to tag along w/ you guys, cause I know my car wouldn't make it all the way to Gainesville and back in one night, but just to Clearwater should be ok (I hope, LOL). Plus, it should be a lot of fun to spend a few hours on the road w/ some fellow crazy fangirls! ;D

Sounds good to me! Oh, and uh, just to let you both know, I don't have a tape player OR a CD player in my car? How ghetto is that, right? But I do have a connector for an iPod (or maybe any other type of mp3 player, I'm not sure), so if you've got one, bring it along! :D

Well, it's ok w/ me (I don't really expect to get much sleep at this con anyway, so we might as well enjoy ourselves, lol!), but I will definitely have to check w/ the other girls before I give the ok to you officially. I most likely won't be going to the cocktail party, but I don't know who else from our room might be. But if they're game, I'm game! :)

And speaking of roommates and such, I hope you don't mind, but I invited one other girl to stay in our room cause she was in a lurch for money and we're good friends. I don't know if you're friends w/ her or not, but it's goodbyetoyou, and she's totally cool w/ sleeping on the floor or even in the tub! Lol. A long time ago, I offered a space to lvlysnidrus since she was riding w/ us as well, but I think she had other arrangements. I need to find out for sure, though, and soon, before I completely overbook our room, lol! But as of now, it's me, you, dlgr, one of her friends, and then now goodbyetoyou. So that's 5, and if we can squeeze 2 people to a bed, then only one person has to use the floor. So I hope that works for you. :)

Yeah, I figured we'd have to just say we had 4 to the hotel people, then kinda sneak in the extra person, lol. In Chicago, we had 4 people for 2 nights (Friday and Sunday), and a fifth person joined us on Saturday cause they had a general admission weekend ticket and was leaving on Sunday night. And that was even w/ a room w/ just a King bed, so I know it can be done, we just have to conserve space where possible, lol. :)
