Oct. 23rd, 2007 01:16 am:(
There was a fire at a house two blocks down from us in our neighborhood this afternoon. I didn't want to be a looky-loo, but my sister insisted. Nobody was hurt, I don't think... the roof didn't collapse but there were huge black soot stains around all the windows, and the car in the garage was pretty well melted. Just. :(( House fires have freaked me out since I was a kid, and I am more disturbed than I care to admit. Wah.
So, uh, this is probably a dumb question: I sent a transcript from my school to another a while back, and the eight bucks to get it done has been processed, etc., but I haven't heard any word from anyone. It's been forever ago since I sent my high school dual enrollment credits over to my school now, so I can't really remember how it's done. Do I have to contact the school I sent my transcript to and ask them about my credits? Or is that the responsibility of the school I go to now? Point being, who do I have to contact to ask about the tranferrable...ness of credits from one school to another?
At this point I honestly don't care if I move to Tampa or Orlando, as long as I'm closer to some school. ANY school. I used to be able to manage driving an hour both ways to school with my iPod and all, but now I get so utterly depressed just thinking about getting up tomorrow and doing it all over again. Another year of this just isn't going to cut it, sigh.
On a happier note, I am totally 700 words into what I said I could not write. \o/!!!

Date: 2007-10-23 05:45 am (UTC)And it is not a dumb question and I really don't know the answer but I shall give you my best guess. Heh. I would assume you need to contact the school you are wishing to attend about transferring of credits and how/if your transcript has gone through. I don't think the school you are attending now will do it, I think you have to do it yourself. So just call the admissions or records office in the school you want to go too and ask them how you would go about transferring credits and all that jazz.
YAY! I am glad you are writing! I should probably write or something. I am totally bored and emo at the moment. Good times.

Date: 2007-10-23 06:11 am (UTC)I can't imagine having a commute like that, it would drive me crazy! when I was in college I had a combined half an hour walk and half an hour bus ride, and that was bad enough .. but at least walking gave me something to do, you know? when I am stuck in a car for more than half an hour at a time I just go crazy.
also, YAY PORN! :D

Date: 2007-10-23 06:25 am (UTC)Uh, maybe I'm braindead at this hour, but I can't think of who to talk to about the credits thing. I think they might have a specific advisor for transfer students? I'd say talk to the school you're sending your transcript to first, then go from there. They'll probably know who you should talk to.

Date: 2007-10-23 06:28 am (UTC)Also, I feel I should warn you that UCF is a notorious ass about transcripts, losing them, having you re-send them, maybe losing them again, and other general dickery.
I have resigned myself to expect this of all universities, however. Just watch out! ♥

Date: 2007-10-23 04:31 pm (UTC)I'm not really sure, I've never tried to transfer credits but you should just call anyways. That's what I would do.

Date: 2007-10-23 10:22 pm (UTC)And I would call the other school and ask if they got your transcript and blah de blah. They're probably going to be able to tell you better what they'll accept as transfer than your current school.
