I has a question.
I'm looking in to getting a new camera for Christmas (serious HINTHINTage to the parents, yes), and I'm a bit stuck as what to get. Thusfar I've had a Canon A520 4.0 megapixels with 4x zoom. I have had NUMEROUS problems with it, and the preceding model, the 3.2 megapixel, or whatever. So far we've sent this camera back to Canon TWICE because the lens froze and was completely stuck while open. Granted, one of the times my parents were taking pictures with it in -18 degree weather, but, uh, still. I've heard Canon is one of the best on the market, and I'm very sadly disappointed. Could be just the model.
Anyway. What I'm looking in to getting is something with a greater zoom lens then megapixels. 8.0 megapixels is fantastic, but not when you have a 3x zoom lens, as learned when you go to something like Comic Con and all your pictures turn out BLURRY because your camera does not have a good zoom. So I want to get something like this, though not necessarily that brand, but definitely in that (used) price range, or around $200-$250. And I'd actually like to KEEP this camera for a while, thanks, instead of replacing nearly every year. So yes, any help would be MUCH appreciated.
Watched commentaries for 2x20 and 2x21, and can I just say, KRIPKEEEEEE. He made me laugh SO HARD omg. And Sera with her "I had fun writing that Sam-almost-raping-Jo scene, LULZ," oh man. Too fantastic. And everyone works SO HARD omg as was attested again and again. YAY SHOW I LOVE YOU.

Date: 2007-09-13 07:02 pm (UTC)Canons are my favorite. I'll never buy another brand. I'd go with a Kodak. They have a bunch of models and they're a company that expressly makes cameras only. I won't buy from a company that makes other things. Canon and Kodak specialize in good cameras. I'm sure you if you looked at some Kodaks you could find one in your price range with the features you want since you're anti-Canon lol.
