I cannot and will not save money to buy clothes, purses, shoes, makeup, jewelry, etc. Only when I truly need to spend money on those things will I grudgingly do it.

No, instead, I buy books.

$60 worth, tonight, in fact. Let's see. The Virgin Suicides, just because I should. Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere; I was browsing a half a bookshelf designated to him, and these two guys and a girl come up and look there too... one of the guys was talking about Neil Gaiman and listing off the one's he had read to the girl, who was trying to decide on what to get. I asked, "So is this one (Neverwhere) good?" He said, "Oh, yes. Not as good as American Gods or Good Omens, but, yes, good." I told him I had read both of those as well, and then wondered aloud where the sequal, Anansi Boys was, as I couldn't right offhand see it. Later, as I was browsing another section, he came up to me and handed me a copy, saying he had found one.

Heeeeee.

Unfortunately, it was a hardback, and $26, so I didn't get it. But still. :D

I also got all three books for His Dark Materials, so, yay! No box set, though; I had to buy them seperately. And, gah, they had a couple different types, like these, all shiny and looking like some romance novel book, or something. They also had these too, which were far more, well, prettier. I know that the books are the same, I know that the words are the same no matter what type of book-binding they're put into or whatever their covers may be. But still. The shiny ones were $7, and the others $12, and I know I should have gotten the $7 ones, but, man. I just couldn't! A matter of integrity, I suppose. WEEP 4 ME.

The only problem now, is which to read first.

PS: Did you know that the scanner at the register at Walmart makes the same noise that the countdown button on Lost does? MAYBE DESMOND WAS JUST TIRED OF WORKING AT WALMART, BROTHAH!
