Apparently I can register for spring classes on Friday, and so I pull out my handy dandy List of Credit Classes I Have Not Yet Taken, and there it is, Form and Technique of Poetry. WAH. Have I mentioned lately how much I hate poetry? Because I do. A lot. I am sure this is some huge freaking sin for English majors, but, whatever; poetry blows. Sometimes it makes me feel unsmart?? Yes, there is that, too. So, um, I'm taking Fiction I instead. Besides, it would have clashed with the Origins of the World Wars class and, oh, I am ALL over that. EEEE.

Since I'm nearly finished with my last book for required reading for my Lit class, I went to Barnes and Noble and picked up Neil Gaiman's Sandman because 1) GAIMAN!!!1 and 2) Kripke fanboys Death omg. I also got The Time Traveler's Wife because I've heard nothing but good things about it, so!

I have also finally, finally got my family to watch Supernatural. I RULE. They've only seen the Pilot and Wendigo, but they love the music ("The Allman Brothers!" says my mom) and the Metallicar, and YES, HA HA, MINE IS AN EVIL LAUGH. This makes me so excited/nervous it's kind of stupid.

That being said, is it angsty mcangstypants Thursday yet omg??

(Also, the soundtrack for the EE of TTT? I just. Ungh. My heart.)
Indian Killer blows. Hardcore. Ugh. Never before have I ever wanted to throw a book (a book!) across the room, and like, I don't know, step on it, or something. These feelings! They are new and confusing! I am in need of some brotherly angst, perhaps!
Today sucked. It sucked so bad. I don't know what my problem was, but I was a mess all day. I almost didn't feel like going to Hannah's party, but I did, and I feel a lot better for it. It was her birthday, and the party was at, ahaha, a roller rink. Ahahah omg! I haven't been to one of those since I was in elementary. I PWNED rollerskating like nobody's business back in the day. No inline skates! The oldschool kind, complete with purple wheels and neon yellow laces. Oh man. WELL. I still OWN. Holy crap. It was so much fun. Even in gross, extremely well-used, oldschool skates. Har.

I've decided that I cannot read books like Being Committed or The Devil Wears Prada or some crap. I tried reading the former and found myself pretty much bored by page 10. So, Pride and Prejudice it is, then! (Because, um... I've never read it. I don't know why! I was never required to in high school. So I'm making up for things, I guess.)
My results from perex.com. ExpandChock full of creepy accuracy! )

How exciting.

Let's see. My dad had surgery on his knee Thursday, and he's been recuping. I take him to physical therapy tomorrow, so hopefully he'll be able to, you know, walk, and not hobble around everywhere.

N'aww, [livejournal.com profile] strawberryelfsp! ♥ I kept meaning to tell you that I'm sorry I missed the whole shower, as I was out of town, but I hope it was spectacular, and I'm so excited for you omg. I can't wait to see the pictures. :D!!

I saw My Super Ex-Girlfriend and Lady in the Water, neither of which were fantastic, but entertaining, I guess. Oh man, Rainn Wilson SLAYED ME. I love him. Mostly because all I can see him as is Dwight, ahaha.

I've been freaking reading The English Patient forever. It's hard to get through! Definitely not a drive-by read. Nghr.

Time for go to bed.
Oh wow. Tonight's House was fantastic. Chase in the vest was particularly pleasing omg laksjdfals.

BUT. I am seriously having a mad crush on Wilson. He is just. so. cute. I can't get over it. TO PROVE IT: he has the prettiest brown eyes I have ever seen lasdkjflasdkjasjd!! And when House and him and the guys were playing poker, and Chase told House that that chick had a boyfriend? Wilson's reaction omg jmfklasdjfaslkj omg I don't know! The tension between House and him was awesome, ahahaha. Omg. I wonder how old he is...? :x

Last day of my Lit class, thank God. I've got a grand total of an A+ and a C+ so far, and I've still got two papers coming, so, I'm just hoping everything turns out all right. Wah.

I also finished The Virgin Suicides. Very good, wow. I've never read anything in a collective voice and that was really interesting. I want to see the movie now; it probably won't be as good as the book, as it is with most. But, I hear Hayden Christensen plays one of the characters, and we all know how I feel about Hayden, SO.

Edit: OH YEAH. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] _allshallfade, I've been watching this all evening, and dying every. single. time. My sister and I watched it like, 14 times. Funniest damn thing ever.
Expand'I like you just the way you are.' )

Should I invest (and when I say "invest" I mean "pay 8 bucks") in the His Dark Materials series? Are they any good? I needs me some new books.

Okay. Finish paper. Right. Yep.
"Sometimes when people ask me why
I am so fond of apple pie
I make myself stand up and grin
(depending on the mood I'm in).

I stand and grin from ear to ear
then do a thing that's rather queer:
I stand there grinning like a ghoul
then down my chin I drip some drool!

I DRIP SOME DROOL!
I START TO DANCE!
I STICK MY FINGERS
IN MY PANTS!

But seldom are my friends so nice
As to ask why I like pie twice."

Oh my word, I'm in love with this book. *Has a fit*
Finished American Gods. INSANITY. But, man, I could not put that book down. I was even doing the whole reading at the stoplight thing, ahaha. Come to think of it, I did that while reading Good Omens, too. It's a Gaiman conspiracy! Heh. But yeah, It was good. I really liked Shadow. Intriguing guy. I'd love to see some art of him, or something, try to get a better mental picture. Yes.

Next I start The Brothers K (for my Kateh!), and then I want to pick up The Virgin Suicides. Then after that, I have to decide if I want to read the Discworld series or Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, as my creative writing teacher has been going on about that. I'm sure rereading Ender's Game will somehow make it's way in there too. Hmm.

I put up some links of Godspeed You! Black Emperor at teh_music, so I'll put them here too.

Dead Flag Blues
Providence

Rockets Fall on Rocket Falls
Static

If you've never heard them you should really give them a listen. They're symphonic-orchestral-rock...ish. So epic. So wonderful. ♥
"Remember on Lost when they met The Others?"

I. LOVE. THE OFFICE. AHAHAHAHA WIN!!

Pam just seriously needs to break up with her fiancee. I hate him. And marry Jim. Omgyes.

Luna! She's so cute! Pretty darn good casting, I say. ExpandWhich brings me to... )

ANYWAY. I finished A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole today (has anyone read that? it was pretty good!), and next I'm going to start American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and, uh, read OotP on the side because I'm an angst whore and I love that book. GOOD TIMES.
I got an email reminder, saying Logan's birthday is coming up soon.

:(

Kate, I remember a while back you rec'ed The Brother's K, so I bought it today because I needed to use up a B&N giftcard. Just thought I'd let you know, hee. I almost bought a fairy-tale and children story book by Oscar Wilde, but I wanted to buy the GoF calendar, so....

I've had a headache all evening, and am now feeling like major crap, so, bed.
