Things!

1. Radiohead concert was on Wednesday. There aren't even words. The seats were amazing. Everything was amazing.

2. My laptop is in a shop, siiiigh. A few days ago I had it on, went to take a shower, came back, and the screen was completely black even though the computer was still running. Long story short, it's not the backlight, which I thought it might be, it's something else that will cost a lot less, thank God. I can either pick it up today or Monday, depending on if it get's done in time, and I'm crossing fingers and toes that it'll be today. I've had that thing since 2006 and it's still chugging along (with minor issues, of course), so I'd hate to shell out another $400+ for another laptop.

3. I know I keep talking about this every couple of months, but yeah. Moving. I want to do it. I really really want to do it. I keep feeling drawn to Portland, OR, so I've been doing some researching and it seems very doable. Exactly the type of climate I want, an awesome food culture, a mere few hours drive to gorgeous mountains, Seattle, Vancouver (!!!), the ocean if I miss it (lol not likely), and all the bands I want to see go there ALL THE TIME DAMMIT. Plus whispered_theme, whom I love and adore, is there, and knowing someone who lives in a city you're completely new to definitely raises the awesome factor. I've been looking on Craigslist - yes yes, I know, please spare me the lecture - for rooms for rent in houses, and I feel really optimistic about the results. Of course I'm only interested in people who are really freaking detailed in who they are and what everything with the room for rent would entail. January 2013 would be when anything happens, if it does, so, idk. We'll see!

So jealous of the gig dude, Karma Police is in my top 5 all time perfect songs and Fake Plastic Trees makes me weep, if i ever saw them do either of those I think i'd explode with joy.

Everyone lost their shit when we heard the opening of Karma Police, haha! Fake Plastic Trees would have been aaaawesome omg. I was so surprised to hear Street Spirit too, it's been forever since I've heard it!

That would be AWESOME, thank you! I'll definitely have some questions as the time gets closer. Apparently N/NE Portland isn't exactly the best in terms of sketchiness? I was also thinking of branching out to Vancouver or maybe even Beaverton, but Vancouver looks like it may be cheaper.

Ugghhh just the IDEA of living near the mountains makes me so happy I could cry! Especially some place so beautiful as the PacNW. I really hope this'll all work out!

Yeahhh that was my thought too, that I wanted to live somewhere fun and cute and in the city, but Vancouver does look quite a bit cheaper, which may be the deciding factor. But who knows! It's all about what I find and when I find it, so maybe I'll get lucky. :D And yay, thanks for the other advice! It is definitely awesome to know these things!

OMG! I'm so horrible at checking LJ these days, but thank goodness I did today! SARAH. GET HERE NOW. And Vancouver is not that bad in my opinion. I mean, if you want the downtown Portland vibe 24/7, then of course live there. But for me, being slightly north works out alright because I'm closer to work but can take a quick 25 min. drive and can enjoy everything Portland has to offer. Plus it's not as spendy. I really want to make this happen girl!!!!

FLAILIES. I'm really kind of torn because on one hand I would love to live in the city, but on the other hand I've been living in such a big city for my entire life that it would be nice to live in a small town. We shall see. But either way, PARTY TIME ADKFHSFHCK!
