This time next week, my butt will be on a plane to Germany. I planned it last summer, bought tickets in August, and now it's a WEEK AWAY. Cannot even/rainbow vomit/rocket-fueled cartwheels. AHHHH.

I think it'll be good for me to get away for a while too. I've been having some... LJ and fandom-y issues lately, so hopefully going away for a little bit will snap me back into place. I really think I just need a break from LJ, fandom, and technology in general. Force myself to step back and actually enjoy other things!

Because I'm stupidly excited, and because I'm a super nerd who loves nothing more than to itinerize, HERE IS MY LISTY OF THINGS:

- March 9: arrive in Frankfurt, Germany at 7:20am; pick up my irl friend E who will be joining me, work our way to the ever so wonderful stargazertook's place; maybe gallivant around the city until jet lag kicks in
- March 10: sightsee Wiesbaden and Mainz
- March 11-12: sightsee Heidelberg/Rothenberg/Ulm
- March 13: drop E off at the airport; downtime day; possibly walk around Frankfurt again by myself
- March 14: sightsee Nuremberg
- March 15: meet up with geckoholic (yaaaay!) and sightsee Hannover
- March 16: sightsee Wurzburg
- March 17: sightsee Trier
- March 18: another downtime day, or possibly just hopping on a train to wherever, depending on how tired I am from a whole week of doing the same
- March 19: sightsee Bad Homburg with stargazertook and family
- March 20: sightsee Cologne with stargazertook and family
- March 21-24: fly from Frankfurt to Amsterdam, and then take a train from Amsterdam to Groningen in the northern part of the Netherlands, where my family lives; stay with them on their farm omg
- March 24: take train back to Amsterdam and then to Leiden, where my good friend whom I've known since kindergarten is studying and stay with her
- March 25: go to the Keukenhof Flower Festival omgomgogmalkajdlsa;jsf
- March 26: sightsee Amsterdam
- March 27: sightsee Haarlem/The Hague
- March 28: fly Amsterdam back to Frankfurt
- March 30: fly back to the US

...YEAH. And you'd better believe I'm going to annoy the crap out of ALL OF YOU with my neverending posts and pictures of it all, sry2say. Okay, actually I'm a little bit sorry, JUST KNOW I WON'T BE ABLE TO HELP IT.

Alsoooo it's this guy's birthday. YOU KNOW. This guy. Who I am generally fond of.

Oh good, I was actually hoping you'd approve of at least some of those places! (No seriously!) And OMGZ I'll call YOU if you don't call me, haha! MUST TRAVEL FLAIL WITH YOU.

I feel SO tied down to the internet/LJ/twitter as of late, and the more I'm on them, the more I want to be on them, which is a horrible circle to get into. So break away for a while I must! I'll still have my laptop with me to get on every now and again (and check in with my parents on Skype so they don't think I've died, ha). OMG PICTURES, BB, SO MANY PICTRES.

I get into these ruts where I don't want to do anything besides sit on the internet/read fic/look through tumblr/read twitter and then I find myself getting more and more depressed and at the time I don't know why.

I feel like this is currently my life! And it's driving me crazy! I get home from work and I'm all, UGH, WORK, and all I want to do is sit down and read some fic, or whatever, and then my whole evening is gone and I haven't done anything productive. And then I feel MORE blah and then I read MORE fic, and etc etc. So yeah, hopefully I can kick that habit. The internet is like my indulgent carton of ice cream after a bad day, but now it's just part of my routine. SIIIGH.

But yeah, like you, I just want to use my laptop for storing/maybe uploading some pics, and keeping up with a liiiitle fandom news, haha.

Ack, I hope I don't have to call home! I FINALLY got the unlock code for my old phone, so I'll be buying a SIM card over there. Would be expensive! But much obliged for the tip, all the same. :D

PROTIP: don't let jet lag affect you any earlier than a normal bedtime on arrival day. Just keep moving and then finally sleep at like 9pm, it'll set you up for the whole rest of the trip. And don't take any downtime days unless they're doing things like saunas, shopping, museums, or some other unique experiences. You can rest when you're dead when you're not in Europe!
(Do whatever you choose though, really. These are just my opinions. Above all, have the best time EVER because Europe is the coolest! :D )

Ooh, duly noted! I had planning on taking a nap or something later in the day, but I will be hardcore and forgo that! And heeee, right! I had put "downtime days" on my schedule just in case I was feeling run-down, or whatever, but I am MORE than happy to run around like a crazy person and do ALL THE THINGS! So I suspect even a little tiredness won't keep me down for long. :D ♥

OH MANNNN, I am CRAZY excited for you. You're going so many AMAZING places! I have big BIG love for Heidelberg and I remember them having festivals all the time down in the Old Town, but even if nothing's going on when you're there, it's SO beautiful. And Rothenberg is so freaking cool. We went there after staying on the river visiting wineries with our German bff's and allll of us were hungover, but it was still AMAZING, haha. And Cologne, with the cathedral! And Nuremberg! And you get to hang out with Dor and her family, who are the coolest!

No doubt about it, you're going to have the best time EVER. I'm a little jealous, but mostly SO EXCITED. <333
