There is definitely SOME hope. Teeny weeny minuscule-like hope, but it's there, nonetheless. There might be the slim chance that they're actually selling general admin tickets AT the Con (as I very vaguely remember them doing that when we went in '07), so they would be pretty crap seats, but at least we'd be in, you know? But that just depends on how packed it's gonna be and stuff. I would think they definitely WOULD sell SOME seats, 'cause holy crap, it's only AUGUST and the Con is in November! Once they get the actual numbers on the people who are THERE and picked up there badges, they might sell a good number more seats.
Also, as skygazing said, I'm gonna keep scouring ebay. Though people mostly sell their gold/silver tickets, there's a chance they might sell some of the preferred or general too!
BUT, if worse comes to worse, we figure this: go, and make the most of it. DEFINITELY Saturday I want tickets (MISHAAAA), and Sunday, if we can't find any way to get in, we'll hit downtown Chicago and do amazing Chicago-y things. Believe me, I am incredibly super bummed, but having a crapload of your favorite most amazing fangirls around you is some serious happymaking. I REALLY do want you there, but like I said, I completely understand if you want to back out. Being RIGHT THERE without being able to go in and see them is pretty awful. :(
