Weeee, Pippin is on my calander today.
Sep. 20th, 2003 10:48 pmSo, yeah.
Today was pretty fun. We raised almost $300 for the car wash today. I am totally burnt from my wrists to halfway up my arm. A lovely farmer's tan. Also burnt on the back of my neck (hurts!), face, and on my calf muscle on the back of my leg which is kinda odd. Ehehe, Jaime couldn't come to the car wash so he just dropped off a bunch of stuff with a list on the front so we could keep track of them. Just before leaving, we were looking around for all the stuff to put back and Jimmy goes up to the box and says, "Hey, guys! He put down 'Ass Sponges'! Ass sponges? Hey, everyone! Look around for some ass sponges!" Sure, enough, as clear as day it said that on the box. I'm guessing it was the sun that did something funky to usomg, just like Cap'in Jack because me, Kristen and Haley were laughing for about ten minutes. It was pretty funny.
Soooo. Then we went over to my dad's friend's house to watch The Two Towers. *Whimper*
I don't know. I just... I feel that LotR isn't really an obsession it's just part of me and more of a way of life anymore. I can't count how many times I've just been feeling so rotten and down and then come online and have all these wonderful people and my fandom here waiting for me. It's incredible. I really and honestly don't see where there's a problem in liking something that much. Yes, you get those people that are way over the top in their infatuation but I'd like to think of myself as being in silent admiration most of the time. People at school know I like LotR and they probably think I'm ahuge bit of a dork for doing so but that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. It's not just liking the movie, liking the books, liking the people in the movie and in the books; it's about the philosophy, the "why"'s and "what if"'s, knowing the absolute truth and meaning of a part in the movie so much that it brings tears to your eyes. You can't make people understand that. I've tried so hard but you can't. And that's okay, I suppose, because they can have their thing and I'll have mine.
The one thing that I absolutely love in TTT is when Merry truly acts the part of the older cousin in taking care of Pip and making sure that he's okay. Two scenes in which he does: In Fangorn Forest when they're running from that orc (Grishnakh) and Merry turns around to Pippin and says, "Trees! Climb the tree!". Second one is at the end when the water is rushing out of the dam from the river Isen and Merry looks up at Pip and says, "Pippin! Hold on!" Eheh. I don't know... it's just the little things like that that I love.
Each time I watch the scene with Elrond and Arwen... gah. I seem to get more teary. And I just love how they show, it seems (though it's... different), a wee part from the Appendices: Arwen at Aragorn's funeral. Gah.
It is unnecessary to say that I don't think I'll survive RotK. And I mean that in all seriousness. I'll be bawling my eyes out, refusing to leave my seat for 20 minutes after it's over. And then just maybe I'll get up and be all whimpery (whimpery?) for the rest of the night. Hum.
I have been sneezing far too much over the past couple days. *Frets*
