HMMMmm, this post! Okay, I'd have to say, that if the speculation of Dean as Michael's vessel DID happen, I would probably have a glee fit. A FIT OF GLEE. Which, okay, I know, makes some people unhappy as all get out, and I understand why, I do! BUT. As long as he's not like, you know, totally was-Jimmy-now-Castiel-possessed-all-the-time-and-forever, I KIND OF REALLY WANT IT, OKAY.

As far as I've gathered, the foreshadowing that they've included have been:

- 4.22, the paintings on the wall
- the mythos of Lucifer and Michael being brothers (especially with all the speculation of Sam being Lucifer's vessel)
- that Castiel told Dean he thought he was "special" enough to hear his true voice in 4.01
- apparently per 4.20, being a vessel is "in the blood" (hence the previous point?)
- plus this idea, which HMM INDEED. They never did get around to saying what he left behind in Hell. And apparently it's pretty important.

ARGH. I waffle back and forth so much on this issue! One part of me is like, "HOW FUCKING BADASS WOULD THAT BE?", but the other part of me gets all sad and disgruntled because if it turned out that way, it wouldn't be THE BOYS saving the day and kicking Evil's ass, it would be....Archangel Michael. There's just something so unbelievably anti-climatic about Dean's "desinty" (and possibly Sam's "desinty", if we think Lucifer will possess him) being him effectively DOING NOTHING. Where's the emotional arc in that? Where's the payoff? I think in the end I would just feel CHEATED :/

I'M ALSO JUST REALLY SCARED THAT LUCIFER IS GONNA POSSESS SAMMY AND THEN IT'LL STILL BE BRO VS. BRO, WHICH.....NO. Like, how fucking TRAGIC would that be? If now that they've just realized that bad shit goes down when they're not in it together, and they're determined to try and work through all the bad stuff that happened it all just goes to hell because Lucifer's like HAY GUYS. OOH, SAMMY, I'M JUST GONNA POP IN HERE FOR A TIC, KTHNX. Like, the opportunity for reconciliation is just snatched away. If that happens, I'm seriously going to BAWL ;___;

SEE, I know what you mean! And people have said that, and I'm like AAAACK, I KNOOOOW. If it was Dean's destiny all along just to BE a vessel, well. Hm. What was his whole life for, then? It's so hard to say! But I'm sure there would be more of a twist that they would put on the story, IF they decided to go that route.

UGHHH, I KNOW! See, I THOUGHT that everything might be all hunky dory there at the end of Lucifer Rising, and THEN my friend mentions THE LOOK ON SAM'S FACE, so I go back and watch it, and MAN, I DUNNO. He's just got this look of ECSTATIC WONDER, while Dean's like, "DUDE, LET'S GET THE HELL OUT." So that WORRIES ME so much! I thought everything was going to be okay! BUT NO, KRIPKE, YOU JUST HAD TO MAYBE PULL OUT SOMETHING WORSE THAN THE MEATHOOKS. GOD.

Seriously, I can't be caught GIGGLING INSANELY at my phone in public! It's JUST EMBARRASSING.

None of the answers fit my response, lol. I would LOVE to see Michael. Like...LOVELOVELOVE. But I don't want Dean to be his vessel. Dean is so compelling because he's so human, so flawed. I don't want to see him with angel powers, plus if he kills Lucifer, I want HIM to kill Lucifer, not his body possessed by Michael. But I want to see Michael so bad, omfg. Or Gabriel. 'Cause AWESOME.

All totally valid points! Same here, I would totally LOVE to see just Michael as MICHAEL too, 'cause UNGGG SO GOOD. Still some people think that because Dean went to Hell and was "tarnished," having him be a vessel would just bring it 'round full circle, I guess. SO. Yeah. I'm really kinda conflicted! 'Cause seeing them in and of themselves would be SO AWESOME but as Dean? Homg. Man. I dunno.
