Oh God, you guys. My life.

I thought I've been having a pretty bad case of mosquito attacks lately, 'cause when I was at my parents' house I had like, eight on my arm alone. And then I had a few more pop up last night and I was just scratching away and mosquitos, blah blah blah, it's Florida, a lot all at once is bound to happen sooner or later.

I woke up this morning and my hands and feet felt like they were on fire, they were itching so much, but I overlooked it still. It then spread to my arms, elbows, stomach, and legs until I actually looked and holy cow, either a lot of mosquitos went at me in a concentrated area or something was really wrong.

So I completely freaked out, called my dad while trying not to writhe on the freaking floor it itched so bad EVERYWHERE it hurt. Not an hour and a half after I woke up I was almost covered in red welts and splotchiness. I had some hydrocortisone cream but I'd have to pratically BATHE in it, so I thought, fine, I don't care if I'm overreacting, I'm going to a walk-in clinic. [livejournal.com profile] darth_snuggles, my most awesome roommate, drove me to the mini-ER and I waited and waited and waited and itched a LOT, and FINALLY was seen. The doctor asked me a bunch of questions, including what I ate last night, and I told him leftover lasagna that my mom had given me to bring back. Apparently tomatoes, when they break down, release some sort of enzyme that cause allergic reactions? I didn't believe it at first, but my dad says he's heard that before too.

So yeah. I'm suddenly allergic to tomatoes. Or old/leftover tomatoes. An allergic reaction is SO much better than what I thought it would be, like bed bugs or fleas or my sheets or something. I'm still red and splotchy and itchy as hell, but the doctor prescribed me Prednisone for five days, so hopefully that should clear it up. I'm really really REALLY glad it wasn't something worse, but still, kind of a pain.

Unfortunately I haven't packed, still have homework to be completed, am just finishing up laundry, and have to be at work 3:00-9:00. The doctor gave me a doctor's note for work, but I'm very much in need of money (as per last post) and I just, I can't skip this shift. I called and told them that I'd be late, and my manager is really awesome and she's gonna cover me so I can come in about 45 minutes later. Blaahhgadsafds. It'll be a late night for me tonight, I guess.

Haha, so, apparently I'll be the funny-looking, red and splotchy allergic-girl at Wincon. Faaaantastic.

Yeah, if I do get some Benadryl I must just cut the dosage in half, or something. Being a zombie is definitely NOT how I wanna be tomorrow. Yay, thanks for the tip! ♥
