Me = copycat. Kate just rec'ed a bunch of music in her LJ, so now I have to too!

[Raining Oil] & [Full Chemical Gear] by Thomas Newman. Thomas Newman = so awesome. He's my second favorite composer, right under Howard Shore, hee. His music, unlike a lot of composers, has real character and depth. These two are from Jarhead, and are very, very good.

[Near Life] by Embrace. Ooooh, these guys are so good. They remind me a lot of Doves. I don't know how to explain it, really. Their music is very... full sounding? Really powerful? I don't know! I suck. But they're amazing. I've been listening to this song on repeat for a while now.

[Kid For Today] by Boards of Canada. Omggggg, this band is so great. Very off the wall, but quite ambiant. I downloaded their album Geogaddi (amazing), and someone reviewed it as, "...dark-hued psychedelia over slow-burning, lullaby melodies." I'd say that just about does it!

[Got My Own Thing Now] by Squirrel Nut Zippers. Modern day swing/jazz, complete with brass. How could you not love that? Gaah, they make me want to learn how to swing dance. So much fun.

[The Boxer] by Simon and Garfunkel. Words cannot explain how much I love them. I know, I kind of hate it when I see 14 year olds wearing like, a Led Zepplin shirt, or something, because you're like, "HELLO, YOU KIND OF MISSED THAT ERA." Well, I definitely missed the Simon and Garfunkel era, but their music is so beautiful and I love the lyrics so much it hurts.

In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry glove that layed him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame
"I am leaving, I am leaving"
But the fighter still remains

This is one of my favorites.

AND A BONUS OH WOW. [What Goes On] by Sufjan Stevens. It's a cover, so I don't know how many people have it. I don't know who the original, but it's a DAMN FINE COVER. Mmmm, Sufjan.

Let me know if you download any, yes?

So, yay. Ooh, should I download the Snatch soundtrack, even though I haven't seen the movie (though I FULLY intend to, because, hello, Brad Pitt) y/n?

I've got such an urge to write, but I can't, because I have to focus on schoolwork at this point in time. Woe.

Ooh, I love Simon & Garfunkel. The first CD I ever bought was Simon & Garfunkel. And "The Boxer" is probably my favorite song by them, or at least in the top five.

Stupid jam-packed hard drive. Otherwise I'd totally save some of these. :D

thank you, as I took them all. Except for kid for today because apparently I'm having issues with it. And I'll ask, do you know the cover song Gravity by Embrace? It is fantastic. Amazing. Coldplay does it too, but I like Embrace's better. Just say the word and I can get you both! :)

Ooh, I do have both! Ahaha, how weird! I've heard Coldplay's version before, but I never connected it with Embrace doing it too. Durrr. Omg they are just too great.

YAY MUSIC!! I downloaded most everything, hee. <333

And, you've gotta see Snatch, it and Fightclub are the best Brad Pitt movies ever (and also A River Runs Through It, but that's on a slightly different scale). I am not always a huge fan, but Irish gypsy boxer Pitt, nnnnng. That being said, I don't remember the music from the movie, but I would imagine it's worth the download. :D
