Jan. 23rd, 2011 06:10 pmThis weekend has been pretty perfect. Friday night my friends and I went to Tampa for dinner, and then everyone came back to my house and we watched The Room for the God-knows-how-many-th time. One of my friends was reading up on the script (lol seriously, this is the kind of stuff we do), and apparently Tommy Wiseau wrote the character of Denny to be autistic, which is why supposedly is the way he is. NOT THAT YOU WOULD KNOW because it is an amazingly horrible train wreck, but there you go. Also, one of my favorite lines, "I definitely have breast cancer," and the complete non-reaction to that news is apparently because Claudette is a pathological liar, and that's why it's never brought up again. Tommy Wiseau. Understated genius.
Then last night we went to a winery that we frequent that's pretty much right across the street from me. I absolutely love this place. I also had five not-small glasses of wine and was drunky mcgee. Someone we knew was doing open mic night there, and all his friends were there, so we went back to his place afterward with everyone. They were all pretty musically inclined, so we had a drunken jam session with a guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, a saucepan and a spoon, and a musical saw. It was kind of amazing. I usually shy away from hanging out with a group of people that I don't know very well, but I'm glad I went. Also I requested Sufjan Stevens to the person playing the banjo, and he totally played John Wayne Gacy for me. I almost died.
My friend E who is coming with me to Germany is gonna be here in a few minutes so I can help her buy a plane ticket, yaaaay! Because I am anal and like making itineraries, I have so far made lists of things to do for these cities which I'll be visiting: Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Cologne, Trier, Nuremberg, and Hannover. All I have left to itinerize is the few days I'll be in Amsterdam, and Groningen, and also any weekend side trips with
stargazertook that might happen. Eeeee oh God IT'S SO SOON.
Speaking of which, tomorrow is when I tell my boss about Europe. Lol we'll see how that goes. The meeting last week was exactly how I thought it would be, so if I do get let go, I'm not going to be heartbroken. I'm still having internal panic attacks about where to move (if I even do) after I get back from my trip. Maybe have it narrowed down to Portland, Oregon, or NYC? Frick I don't even knoooow. Meh, something to worry about another day.
