Dec. 10th, 2010 04:38 pmThis is my first Christmas season in four years that I haven't worked at Starbucks. Kind of strange, honestly. I really really liked working there during Christmas. And I just really miss working at a place like that, I guess. Working in a law office with only two other people is worlds different. Even though the work sometimes sucked and getting up at 4am was HORRIBLE, I still had other coworkers that I could bitch about work to, and became really good friends with. I just really hope I can find a job in the future where I can have that kind camaraderie again.
My first Christmas working at Starbucks, both Damien Rice's 9 and Arcade Fire's Neon Bible came out around that time, and good Looooord I played those albums nonstop for a long time, even with them playing at work. I absolutely love listening to them now. Brings back really good memories.
Wednesday the 8th marked a year ago that I moved home from Orlando, and also 3 months to the day until I go to Europe. Oh, Orlando. It makes me feel so many feelings. I'm slightly terrified that when I try to move away from home again, I'll have flashbacks because most of living there was... less than stellar. But hopefully when I DO move (wherever that'll be) my financial situation will be MUCH better and I won't have as crippling homesickness and I won't have a douchenozzle boy as a roommate. AND ETC. Ugh, I really hope so, at least. I just don't want to be all awesome and move somewhere and then realize, OH GOD, MISTAKE, I WANNA GO HOOOOME. Gah.
I apologize for nostalgia vomiting everywhere.
More importantly, happiest and BESTEST BIRTHDAY EVER to the lovely
__tiana__, best accessory to have in Chicago ever. Hope it's wonderful, darling! ♥
And thank you to
berreh (omg you guys are the CUTEST) and
quidditchkiss for the Christmas cards! ♥
SO UMMMM don't tell anyone, but this DOES THINGS to me. How so awesome, Jensen.
Now I must get ready for a Christmas party at work which pro: is at the Cheesecake Factory, but, con: will probably be sufficiently awkward. My sister is the bestest sister ever though, she agreed to be my plus one. Everyone else with their significant others and me with... none! Haha yay.
