Harddrive completely fried. BUT rest of laptop might be ok. Ordering new harddrive tomorrow. Wish me luck. Not seen new SPN yet but OMFG Star Trek was AWESOME.
So I'm a fucking moron. :D

Basically, I set down a full cup of water right next to my laptop, was talking to my parents on the phone at the same time, and some how bumped the water to land all over the keys. Just. A deluge. SOMEHOW I managed to not scream a line of FUCK SHIT COCKSUCKING MOTHERFUCK ME while on the phone with the parents, and my Dad told me to dry it out as best I could and pop it in the fridge. Which I did. The next morning I pulled it out, turned it on, and it says "No detectable boot device," which basically means HEY YOU HAVE NO HARDDRIVE. Later my roommate's boyfriend came over and physically pulled out the harddrive and it STILL had water on it, not to mention actual visible short circuiting within the harddrive, so I put a fan on it for a couple of hours and hoped for the best.

Yeah. No dice. BUT, someone suggested that it just might be the harddrive and not the motherboard or anything else that runs the computer, so we swapped harddrives and it LOOKS like it might just be the harddrive. I was just on the phone with my Dad again and he reeeeaally wants me to go to the Best Buy Geek Squad peoples that will charge me an arm and a leg to tell me what's wrong, but will actually narrow it down TO telling me what's wrong, so I don't order a harddrive and have it come in only to find it's not working. ALSO he said that since I still heard the harddrive spinning there MIGHT be a possibility that some stuff could still be retrievable on it? I hope so, I really do.

So very very fortunately I had TWO backup external harddrives (in case one of them flopped, HA HA) with 6000+ mp3s and TONS upon TONS of pictures on them, so that's safe. But on my internal harddrive I had so many little things, folders of SPN pics, old scanned pictures from back home, videos, Firefox 2 (I don't WANT Firefox 3! :((), all my fics, all my old papers from school, and just little things that I've collected for the past 6 or 7 years. I'm really really bummed and having a hard time not beating myself up about it. Such a stupid, stupid little mistake and now I'm out all this stuff. I just feel like such an idiot.

So yeah. And on the flip side of the coin, WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS OMFG )

Also, last night, I saw STAR TREK )

All right. I'm gonna finish catching up here, and then take my baby to the Geek Squad just to assess it. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have a new harddrive, if that's only what the problem is. Any extra happy you have lying around would be greatly appreciated. :(
IT'S WORKING IT'S WORKING IT'S WORKING ALSKDJF;AOWIEJA;LKDA MY BABY IS ALIVE AND KICKING. Well. Minus my poor fried harddrive. I went to Best Buy and picked up another harddrive and then installed it with my new roommate's Windows 7 disk and it all works! YAAAAAAY OMFG.

Of course now comes the arduous and utterly painful process of putting everything back to my liking and finding every download that I had before, sigh. SO, does anyone have Firefox 2 still that you could upload? Or that override code for Firefox that changed the layout of the LJ profile screen so it is not so fug? Ugh, I don't even know where to START with everything else. That'll have to be tomorrow, though, 'cause I have to go to bed to open tomorrow morning, bleh.

BUT YAY NOW I CAN REWATCH THE EPISODE because I was still stressing SO HARDCORE earlier when I watched it that I don't feel like I got the full ~*~EFFECT~*~ that I wanted, so. THERE IS THAT.

When I pulled off the next page of my "1000 places to see before you die" calendar this morning, it was of the Winchester Cathedral in England. :>
