So, yes! I'm back. Been back since Saturday but have been busy. Vacation was so so so lovely and very needed. I love the north Geogia/North Carolina area more than anywhere else in the world (so far), and moving there and permanently settling there eventually is definitely my goal.
ANYWHO, here I come to bore you to death with pictures of mountains and trees and STUFF.

Ridiculously steep hill to more cabins.
Lololol at one of the places where we went hiking we had to "forge" the Hiawassee River. Good thing our ox didn't die and our wagon didn't get swept away by the rapids.

A super intense game of Settlers: Cities and Knights. Good thing it wasn't Dutch Blitz. It would have been an all out war. (And if you've ever played either, especially the latter, you are awesome.)

I think this is I-64 north. Windy, steep, hairpin-turn road through the mountains to get to North Carolina.

In Cashiers, North Carolina, a small, touristy, cutesy, health-conscious spit of a town.

This is at, umm... High Shoals Falls, I think. When we finally hiked down to the bottom, the sun was in just the right position at the top of the falls, and the water droplets in the air made for a really cool effect.

Holy good Lord I loved the trees and forest floor and sun here.

ALSO ALSO like, an hour ago, Percy was on my desk and suddenly JERKED UP like a dog on point AND THIS IS WHAT HE WAS STARING AT OMG:

SO PRESH OMG.
SO SO, last night I went out drinking with some coworkers and a few other people. Two Yuenglings down and I was asking people for things to drink to so I could quickly finish my third. Anthony Bourdain, Ewan McGregor, corn chips, you know. So I'm finally on my last sip, and I asked for a really good one. The guy who I sort-of-kind-of have a crush on goes, "How about to the finest weed in the Southfarthing?" Cue me going all high-pitched and demanding I clink glasses with him. Heeeeeee.

In other news, very pretty. My mom lives in upstate NY and it looks like that in the fall. Even lives by a long creek complete with waterfalls. It's pretty to drive through during each season, but man, being that far out? Count me the hell out.

Ooh, upstate NY has to be GORGEOUS in the fall. Maybe not so much in the winter, haha. But yeah, even where we were, there's just tiny towns dotting the surrounding areas. After living in two very huge cities my entire life, it's quite a culture shock.
