Hoping this isn't old news....
AHAHAHA HAAAH OMG.
Found on IMDB.com, regarding HDM: Golden Compass:
Writer Philip Pullman wants Nicole Kidman to play Mrs. Coulter and has indicated that he would like Jason Isaacs to portray Lord Asriel. He has also indicated that he would like the part of Lee Scorsby to be played by Samuel L. Jackson.
AHAHAHHAAAHHA WHAAAAAT. I don't know if this is seriously the awesomest thing I've ever heard or if I want to flip out because that just might be the worst casting choice ever.
Well, I don't know. That's Samuel Effing Jackson we're talking about, but... ahhahaha. I don't know! It might be kind of spectacular.
I am also omg A+++ on the Jason Isaacs yesss.
It was good! It was really really good. I'm not really a fantasy-type person (SHOCKING, I KNOW, but it's true. I like HP, I like LotR, I like this, but some stuff I just get way too weirded out with. I read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow and loooooved them, so I went to read the other books in the series. Speaker For the Dead was good, not as great as the former two, but good. Xenocide was okay, but I started going, "Er." And Children of the Mind... I don't think I even finished that one. There's a point where I just kind of roll my eyes and go, "Yeah... no." If it's truly off the wall, I can't even read it. BUT I DIGRESS.), but this, I liked. There were some parts that I did do the whole, "Er," deal, but definitely not enough to put me off.
OH HOW I LOVED WILL. I will have to say though... I've never heard of any 12-year-old talking like he does. A little out of character, maybe. Or maybe there are just ridiculously smart 12-year-olds in England. Heh. And... as much as I hate to say it, because it really made me kind of wibbly, Lyra being, what, 10? and Will being only 12... the love stuff was a little weird for me. Maybe because ohhh in their heaaaart they were grown-up, but... eek. I'm not too sure about that.
I was reading through the imdb.com comments, and a lot of people were suggesting Ewan McGregor to voice Pantalaimon, which I THOROUGHLY agree with. Not just because I love him (because I do!), but he can put on that young sounding voice, per Robots and etc. Yes.
And then there was this little gem:
For some reason when I was reading the book I kept hearing the voice of the car in Knight Rider when Pan would speak. *shrugs* I don't know why.
AHAHAH AHHAAA. Ahhh. That's great.
So, yes! I can't wait for Hollywood to screw this book up. It's what they do best, you know.
Ngggaaaaah, I retract my statement about there being little excitement. A funnel cloud was spotted in Clearwater, which isn't far at all from where I live. And there's a good possibility of tornados about 20 minutes north from here. And now my lights are flickering, and I've got to decide if taking a shower is worth the risk of electrocution. Omg!
(Lol jk!!!1)
(Probably.)
