(no subject)

I was going to write this huge rant about work but I just don't have the energy. The management and the work itself is slowly driving me insane. How stupid was I to work my whole spring break.

Tonight's Office was so great. Omg ♥♥♥

I'm writing a paper for my history class on the Doolittle Raid during WWII and AUUGHHHH I LOVE HISTORY. I really, really do. Especially the wars. So interesting.

I was all excited to see V for Vendetta this weekend until I learned it's pushing liberal propaganda. Sigh. I'll still see it, but dammit, that kind of stuff drives me nuts. Leave your stupid politics out of my entertainment.

Time for bed.

entertainment is all about politics these days, and has been for a while.

movies that you would think aren't political are full of politics.

True. I keep thinking about all the best picture nominees for the Oscars....

It's quite sad. :(

But V has always been trying to fight the government that made him.
If you tell comic books they can't do anything political, then we'll have to stop pretty much all of them from being printed.

Superman raised people's spirits during WW2, Batman has always been about fighting crime, X-Men was about civil rights and equality from the very beginning.

It's true that it's a Wachowski brothers flick, like the Matrix. That was about the government too, in a way.
Making a statement doesn't mean it can't have many other facets or be plenty entertaining in the process.

If films didn't try to challenge us sometimes, open our eyes and minds, or just show us what's happening (like all the films that were up for Best Picture) then we would just constantly be drooling at explosions.
Which are also in V for Vendetta. :D

even the wizard of oz. well, it was a book and all first, right. all about gold vs. silver currency and farmers and all that stuff we don't care about anymore.

Band of Brothers is a must.

Have you seen it? If you haven't, you should. You would love it. :)
