Hmmrhghg, not sure how I feel about Sam so suddenly doubting his faith after just one encounter with the angels I think it's more like because his faith has been tested as of late. He prays and still bad things happen and he probably starts to wonder if there's even a point to praying... and then ANGELS! and his little Sammy face was like YEY! and then they were not what he expected and it was probably like the straw that broke the camel's back.
