Ruussshhh!
The day we actually spent a full day in Chicago (we flew into O'Hare on Thursday and then flew back out today) it was rainy off and on, very foggy, and around 50 degrees all day. I LOVED IT. Seriously, y'all up north don't understand how amazing that is. I seriously can't get over the differences between up north and the South. Maybe I'll post on that one day, OR SOMETHING.
That ivy-covered CHURCH, oh, I love it.
So pretty!
Ahahah glee!
We came here last year too, but we had to take our parents there because it amuses me greatly. '50 diner, the waiters and waitresses are all rude and they dance and it is GOOD TIMES.
GORGEOUS.
Chicago Tribune, and juuust to the right is the University of Chicago.
AHAHA WELL. Even though it was about 70 degrees while we were there, there was still a little pile of snow in a parking lot at a mall in Mishawaka. SO, I guess I have officially seen snow now??
We also went up and saw Notre Dame again. Damn rich kids. That campus is gorgeous. AND, funny thing, we were driving by the baseball fields because a game had just ended, and guess who they were playing? University of South Florida! AHAHAHA. Weeeird.
This was today. We stayed around the city for a little bit, because of flight out of O'Hare didn't take off until 5:15. This was taking from lying on the grass in Millenium Park. Gorgeous weather.
And yes! A giant silver kidney... thing. Art, apparently.
Makes for really cool reflective pictures, though.
Heh, my dad and me.
To kill time we went into the Chicago Cultural Center, previously the city's library, and let me tell you, it is GORGEOUS. Inlaid with hand-made mosaics and omg.
On the arches and around the ceiling were authors (as you can see) as well as literary quotes, and yeah, my english lit major was freaking out.
Quote by Isaac Barrow, in case you can't read that.
Yeah, I just HAD to take a picture of this. "The corner of Wabash and Lake" has not only been used in The Matrix but... and... come on, you know... Meg says it in "Salvation" to John, "meet me at the warehouse on Wabash and Lake." My geek knows no boundries.
My sister got ridiculously huge sunglasses at H&M so OF COURSE the first thing I do is look like a retard in them.
My sister, my cousin Brent, and me. LISTEN, it is a two and a half hour train ride. We needed to do... something.
MOPEDS WHAT.
I am found like this often.
AND YEAH. Fun times. Glad to be back home, though. Too much stuff to do. :(
Alajsdfl;ajsd what did I miss! EVERYTHING, apparently. Well, there is this and holy SHIT I. CANNOT. EVEN. I don't see mine but WHATEVER I am too busy ROLLING AROUND and dying here. Just. Amazing.
OKAY SO. On that note, I'm off to watch "Heart", finally, and OMFG. I should just take off my pants now, shouldn't I.
